Q: Two question: 1.Is the color printed on or woven in? 2.Is it machine washable?

The designs are printed onto challis wool. The designs are clear & sharp, no blurring of edges or colors & the colors are deep & bright & on the obverse slightly lighter. I have not washed mine as yet. When I do I will either hand or machine wash on gentle, cold water, hang to dry. Handle the wet material as little possible, smoothing out any wrinkles that occur. I am a textile collector & think these wraps, especially at the offered price are an exceptional value. I have purchased four, two as gifts and all are beautiful & well made. The photos are excellent representations of the items.

Q: Would this be too large for a person who is 5'4" tall?

I am 5’3” and I don’t think this shawl is too big, having said that it’s too large to be used as a scarf. It’s a body shawl. It’s warm, light and beautiful!

Merino wool comes from Merino sheep. It's a breed of sheep

Q: is this 100% wool or a blend?

According to the tag, it is 100% wool. It feels like wool and it slightly rough textured but since I wear it over clothes, it works for me.
