I got this for my .223! Simplifies rifle cleaning and eliminates the danger of damaging the bore. Should use with a Bore Guide kit - Tipton offers 2. Top quality item and definitely worth the money. I also got the Tipton jags. Guns are expensive and you should use the best equipment to maintain them and protect your investment. This is the top of the line in gun cleaning rods. I am so impressed with this one that I have just ordered one for my .308!
