## Description

Serve. Protect. The Provoke Zap morphing karambit knife draws on ancient design but it’s hiding a futuristic secret. The first knife ever to feature Kinematic technology, it stays neatly tucked away in transit and comes to life when there’s trouble afoot. Now built with Grivory—a strong, lightweight, engineered thermoplastic—it’s more lightweight, adept, and crafted to go anywhere.Around here, we think of Designer Joe Caswell as somewhat of a mad scientist. When we got an eyeful of the sketches that were to become the Provoke—designed in Newbury Park, California—we knew he was destined to become one of the most innovative designers the knife world has ever seen. Modeled after a traditional karambit, the black hawkbill-style blade is crafted of stonewashed stainless steel. The opening mechanism is pulling the folder into the future whether it’s ready or not. Thumb pressure on the upper crossbar sets the chain reaction in motion, causing the blade to lunge to action while you’ve got a firm grasp on the handle. It’s built of electric green Grivory, a super durable, lightweight thermoplastic for easy transport and a seamless transition into an everyday carry. In true Joe fashion, the pocket clip is also a world first—sitting almost completely flush with the handle and likewise activated with light thumb pressure. The Provoke comes up strong when it’s called in for duty. How Kinematic WorksNudge the upper crossbar with your thumb—while the rest of your fingers firmly grasp the handle—and the blade lunges to life and locks into place. Shift the discrete lever at the base of the finger loop and the blade retreats into its closed position.Specifications:Blade Length: 2.47" (62.69 mm)Edge: PlainSteel: 1.4116Blade Finish: StonewashBlade Thickness: 0.21" (5.38 mm)Grind: ChiselClosed Length: 4.96" (125.88 mm)Open Length: 7.19" (182.58 mm)Weight: 4.7 oz (133.24g)Handle: Grivory with brass boltsStyle: Folding Knife with Kinematic™

Review: It's a good knife, especially since I knew what I wanted and why. - I had seen one of these in person once, and now that I have my own, I carry it everyday. Every pocket knife I've owned has it's own limitations depending on how broad I measure my needs to it's capabilites; this knife is no different. . I understood this was not a "lightening fast" deploying knife, but one I could count on to deploy it a second or two. It's comfortable in my pocket, but I'll be molding a kydex sheath down the road for belt wear. The blade is sharp enough for it's intended purpose, it rotates out to it's open and locked position without fuss, and retracts to it's carry position just fine. I wasn't expecting this knife to open in a millisecond, or even slip back to a closed position with just barely a touch of a finger. . With a defensive/emergency knife, I want it to deploy quickly and I don't worry if it takes a few seconds and maybe two hands, even, to put it back into a safe carry position. . All that aside... the color stands out... which I wanted, the blade is secure and sharp, I can operate it to the open and the closed positions with one hand if I want, and it's not noticeable to me when carrying in my pants pocket, yet the loop is easy to find and hook into for deployment.
Review: CRKT Provoke Grivory Morphing Karambit – The EDC Revolution That's Got Me Hooked! - Fellow gear junkies – if you've ever dreamed of a knife that's equal parts ancient warrior tool and sci-fi gadget, the CRKT Provoke Grivory is your new obsession. I snagged the fluorescent green version (because why blend in?), and from the second I squeezed that Kinematic handle and watched the AUS-8 blade whip out like a praying mantis strike, I was done. Sold. Obsessed. This isn't just a folder; it's a lightweight legend that's redefined my daily carry, blending razor-sharp utility with fidget-level fun that keeps me coming back for more. First, that Grivory handle? Genius. Injection-molded from this high-strength thermoplastic, it's featherlight at just 4.7 ounces – a full 1.4 ounces lighter than the aluminum models – yet tough as nails, shrugging off drops, scrapes, and my clumsy pocket fumbling like it's nothing. The textured grip locks in your hand during wet-weather whittling or quick box-cutting sessions, and the steel-reinforced links connecting the blade to the handle? Bombproof. No wobble, no flex – just pure, confidence-inspiring stability. At 7.37 inches overall with a 2.41-inch curved hawkbill blade, it's compact enough to vanish in your jeans (thanks to that zero-profile clip that deploys with a sneaky squeeze), but deploys with such explosive speed you'll swear it's assisted. One thumb nudge, and BAM – locked open, ready to slice through rope, cardboard, or whatever chaos life throws your way. Edge retention is stellar; after months of EDC abuse, it still carves like day one, and the stonewash finish hides fingerprints and micro-scratches like a pro. But here's the rave-worthy magic: the morphing karambit design. Drawing from those old-school Indonesian blades but engineered by Joe Caswell into something wildly innovative, it feels alive in your hand. That finger ring? Perfect for controlled pulls or just spinning it absentmindedly during Zoom calls (guilty as charged). It's versatile AF – my go-to for prying packages at work, trimming fishing line on weekends, or even as a subtle self-defense backup without screaming "tactical bro." And at around $100? It's a steal for this level of engineering wizardry. No buyer's remorse here; just endless "why didn't I get this sooner?" vibes. CRKT nailed it with the Provoke Grivory – it's not hype; it's the future of folders crammed into a pocket-sized powerhouse. If you're tired of boring thumb-studs and flippers, this kinematic beast will flip your world. 10/10, would morph eternally. Grab one, deploy it, and thank me later! Oh, took me a minute to figure out the functionality of opening the blade, but once you get it. It's quite find.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great knife
*by D***E on September 25, 2025*

This was my favorite knife you barely feel it in your pocket the design is something never seen before it’s amazing and quick very safe and a good build it flicks open once you run it a few times I lost this knife when I went to see the rockets the security made me throw it away being that I was too far from my car now I can’t buy it in my shipping region it sucks but if I run into it again I will definitely buy it
