for a spinning reel, this actually had better action than I was expecting. I LOVE that it came pre spooled with 15lb. test, saving me the headache of having to spool it myself, although I tend to prefer braided line myself. but this was for my little one, so... I don't think it will matter much in the long run. Overall, a good affordable reel for beginners. It seems to be built well, and it doesn't look like I will have to worry about it breaking any time soon, like her previous one did after only a year. and it seems to cast really well too. I tested it on our front lawn, and it seemed to really go pretty far in comparison to most others I have seen, even with the higher test line on it.

This model was my very first reel when I was a kid. I learned to fish with this model and it was very reliable and tough. I caught many fish with it and the one I just bought brings back memories. It's still a great reel very tough and smooth at the same time. Love it!

This a pretty good real for the price, for those that only fish a few times a year this reel will get it done. It comes with 15lb test line which is good, I did change it out with 12lb line just a little more supple and maybe little more casting distance. I have taken it apart and added a little more lube, it has lube on the gears I just like to have a bit more. All in all a solid reel for low cost.
