Minecraft - Volume Alpha is the work of German composer and musician Daniel Rosenfeld. Using C418 as his moniker, Rosenfeld crafted the sweeping soundtrack and vibrant sound design which helped breathe life into Minecraft's voxel-based universe. Fans and critics were universally enamored with his beatless, nuanced electronic pieces upon release. Popular gaming site Kotaku named it among The Best Game Music of 2011, calling the music "remarkably soothing," and The Guardian has compared Rosenfeld's delicate piano and sparse ambient motifs to legendary artists Erik Satie and Brian Eno. In an interview feature with C418, Polygon distilled Volume Alpha to it's essence: "It's not bound by the retro aesthetic of Minecraft's graphics. It transcends them. The album is an attempt to uplift the combined game/music experience into the sublime". Review: Perfect vinyl in my eyes. - Great music for an even greater game! I love the vinyl. It looks great! Makes a great display. Review: Great on vinyl - First off, just one negative: it doesn’t have all the tracks. Going off of memory it doesn’t have the first two tracks - Key and Door - from the full digital album. Now the positives: As a teenager who played Minecraft on the Xbox 360 this is a dream come true. I don’t play the game a lot anymore but this is a nostalgic overload. I have the digital album but having it on vinyl is a lovely physical treat to have. That warm vinyl tint to the sound adds to the warm memories of playing this as a teenager. It helps it sounds so lovely on vinyl so the mastering and cutting was done right. The translucent green is beautiful and looks great on my turntable. It’s not too see-through so the green still pops out. Overall, if you were, are, or have someone who is a big Minecraft fan then this is a great thing to give. Whether it’s a treat, a present, or an impulse buy it’s great. 10/10 would HIGHLY recommend.

Great Soundtrack
I love the music from Minecraft and from C418. Minecraft Volume Alpha has a lot of great tracks. I am surprised I was able to purchase this because when I go to C418s Bandcamp, they are no longer available for purchase there. The CD is great quality. I am not a big fan of the case because it seems to use the same kind of case as Minecraft Volume Beta and my case for that isn't holding up very well. That is my only real gripe about this. Lastly, the song titled Death isn't one I especially like and it just kind of interrupts the rest of the soundtrack, but it is easy to ignore, so I'm not counting off for it.

Good old memories
It's definitely not the best pressing, likely due to the vinyl quality itself. On first listen, Side A sounded terrible, with pops and clicks throughout. Part B was fairly decent. I noticed the vinyl was still loaded with static, so I strongly recommend doing the following: - Do a deep cleaning, pressing seems to have left residue in the grooves. - Clean surface with microfiber pad. - Store the vinyl in anti-static sleeve. After doing this, the sound improved drastically. Side A now has only a few minor pops, and Side B sounds clean. Otherwise the tracks selections are exactly what you would expect from playing the game. I find the atmosphere amazing and relaxing, bringing back all the good memories building and surviving my world.

Great quality
Brother loved it as a present. He cried because of the nostalgia behind it. We'd play minecraft together as kids and I'm an adult now. My brother is in middleschool but he played with me growing up. He loved it

Good buy
Feels thin but very pretty. When the record turns it looks like water flowing over algae. No issues with playback quality
