Just got the Autel MX808S scanner and I’m really happy with it! My buddy had the regular MX808, which was cool, but I needed the EVAP solenoid activation, and the S model does that no problem. It’s way easier to use than those phone apps with a dongle—those can be such a pain. The bidirectional stuff is awesome, lets me test things directly, which is super helpful. Also, the auto-VIN read is a nice touch, saves me some hassle. WiFi for updates, hard-wired for car connection - I purposely wanted that vs bluetooth. IOne year of updated is fine, and the tool will still work after the year. I would only need to update if I purchase a new vehicle which is expected, and acceptable. Btw, the lightning deal made it a ridiculously good bargain. Overall, it’s a solid tool, works great, and I’m stoked with the purchase!

Absolutely love my new scanner! Easy to use, well built, and It can perform so many more functions than my basic blue driver scanner, plus some extra testing features. I was able to use this to set the camshaft timing on my truck, and with advanced scanning and live diagnostics found out that I had a wiring issue which was not letting pcm read the sensor. 1000% worth the buy, a mechanic alone would have charged me more than the scanner costs, and I have a solid scanner that is compatible with all my cars!

Very good professional scanner. Great for narrowing down problems in diagnostics. Reads codes, has service options, software updates are free for a year with purchase. Very accurate diagnostic device. Connects to WiFi and compatible with a huge variety of vehicles. Rechargeable battery last substantially.

Great tool for today's autos. I changed a Low battery and upon replacement, 15 warning messages, including powers steering. Vehicle was essentially rendered useless. My good friend has this unit and brought it over. He hooked it up and analyzed the codes. He erased the codes and ALL systems were restored, helping me avoid an expensive tow to dealer, plus the cost of the dealer. Those two cost more than justified the purchase. Now I can monitor the health of my vehicles.

I originally bought the Autel MX808S just to clear a few check engine codes, but it ended up becoming one of my best tools. It does way more than I expected — from scanning every system to resetting service lights, checking live data, and even doing maintenance functions like oil resets and battery registration. The interface is really user-friendly, fast, and updates are easy to install. I’ve used it on multiple vehicles and it’s handled each one smoothly. Honestly, it’s like having a professional shop scanner without paying shop prices. If you work on your own cars or even just want to avoid unnecessary trips to the mechanic, I highly recommend it. Definitely a must-have tool for any DIY or pro.

This is the most advanced car scanner that I have used to date. The interface is clean and easy to use, especiallyafter you update the software/firmware. Plus, if you have any issues or questions, the Autel Customer Support Team is very helpful. I've already contacted them for technical questions I couldn't find an answer for online. Only downside, if you're working with older cars that use OBD1, or a hybrid of the 2 system, you'll need to pickup adapters. This kit will cover cars from 1996 to 2002: Autel MaxiSys MSOBD2KIT - This will have all the adapters. ASIN: B00PBIEKNO The adapters are sold individually at a lower price. For context, I was working on a 1998 Dodge RAM 2500 and the truck has an OBD2 port. The scanner could access and scan the system. The catch, in order to access the ABS system, I needed the Chrysler-16 adapter for the my MX808.

Home DIY work here, and I'm loving this scanner—lots of options to do the bulk of what a dealership would do. Just adding a second key on a Lexus nearly paid for this scanner alone. I also like the brake bleed option. It is a nice way to make your car stop on a dime again. If you know the codes for your TPMS monitors, those are easy to reset and replace. So far, these are the main things I've been able to do in my driveway. The scanner is high-quality. Highly recommend using the protective box it ships with, as it is perfect for protecting the screen and OBS cord. If you are on the fence about investing in something like this as someone who is only working on his own vehicle or some friends' this absolutely saves time and money.
