Will this amp work for 2 6x9 they are 500 watt max?

I have mine hooked up to 2 skar 6.5s(300w ea) in front Doors & two crunch 6x9s(400w ea) in Rear Dash..I Barely have the gain up, Bass Boost off & I have to turn Bass Down on my OEM Delco stereo so the Bass Doesn't overpower the mids & highs. I actually feel like this amp is too much for my skars & crunches, maybe it's the music I Play...

Can you use a universal bass knob on the amplifier?

Yes. Have one in mine. Makes it nice to turn down the bass when the kids are in the car.

what is the maximum power in rms?

I'm not sure of the RMS power, but this is a very powerful amp. You can tell by the fact that it has two 25-amp fuses. I've found from long experience with amps that the surest way to assess the true power is from the fuse size. Many amps in this class with have only one 25-amp fuse and will be wanting for true power.
