Perfect for bleached hair
I bought the coloring conditioner in the shade Vibrant Pink. I had bleached my hair between the levels 8-10. My virgin hair was originally a level 1 (dark brown, almost black). So while the color obviously didn't show on my virgin roots, it deposited color very well on my bleached hair. My hair length reaches the middle of my back. I had to use an entire tub. I think for a more even application, I would have needed 1 tub plus at least 1/4 of a second tub. Be mindful of applying product on the back of your head. I neglected that area so while the color did show up, it was peachier and less pink than the front strands of hair that I could easily see and reach. The gloves provided in the box absolutely suck - they're thin and come apart easily and have holes in the sides which defeat the purpose of protecting your hands and render them useless. Luckily I have a stash of disposable latex gloves. You will absolutely need them to protect your hands from getting stained. Immediately wipe surfaces if product splashes onto it. Small amounts of product lightly stained my white bathtub pink. Not the end of the world but something to be mindful of. Application is fairly easy. The consistency of the conditioner is like a goopy cream. It doesn't drip so it's easy to apply, but because it's thick it's hard to spread. This is why you have to use a lot of product to cover a lot of surface area. Any coloring product will smell unpleasant. This conditioner has a mint fragrance in it that attempts to cover up the unpleasant chemical smell. It makes it more bearable. Some people have stated that the smell is like toothpaste. I think it's like a combination of chemicals and toothpaste. If you have sensitive skin like me, do a patch test on an inconspicuous area like behind your ear. Or apply a thin layer of Vaseline on the skin touching your hairline, including your temples, behind the ears, and your neck. For more protection, apply Saran Wrap on top of the Vaseline. I'm pretty lazy though and applied it directly to my hair and scalp, being mindful of not letting the product touch too much of my skin. My application wasn't perfect so small areas of my skin had product on it. Those areas, plus my scalp, became slightly itchy and red. The itchiness disappeared a few hours after washing my hair out. I applied the product and loosely clipped it up with a large hair claw, then sat in a bath for about 40 minutes while watching videos to pass the time. The instructions say to leave it in for much less time. I don't think 5-15 minutes will make a significant difference and will likely result in wasted product. I highly recommend leaving it on for at least 30 minutes, max 45-60 minutes. Rinsing out the product with water was easy. Took maybe a good minute to get it out. Although your scalp and hair strands will feel slightly heavy and sticky due to the deposited color afterwards, I highly discourage people from washing their hair with shampoo and following up with a separate conditioner. Shampoo and conditioners can make the color bleed out more. Everytime you wash with even just water, color will bleed. After first time application, just rinse with cool water, dry, and style, then use dry shampoo to avoid washing your hair often. This will prolong the life of the color. When the hair is wet, the color looked like a deep pink/light red. When fully dry, the color is a beautiful and soft pink, with a shade somewhere in between cotton candy and pastel pink. It's not actually too vibrant, despite its name. This was exactly the color I was going for though. After reading reviews on the pastel pink conditioner, which were very abysmal, I'm glad I went with vibrant pink instead. With 1-2 washes, the color gradually fades into a beautiful and subtle rose gold. With 3-4 washes, the color is almost gone. With subsequent washes, the color is entirely gone. If you wash hair every two days while relying on dry shampoo in between washes, you can expect the color to last for about a week. If you want to maintain the pink, you'll have to wash hair even less and/or reapply product every few washes. At $32 a tub for about a week's worth of color, it's pricey and not very financially sustainable. Knowing this, I bought the color just to have one week's worth of a final hurrah before I'd permanently dye my hair back to black. I had fun while it lasted and I have no regrets! I have not tried other colors in this product line so I can't speak on their quality. This product did its job and I was happy with the results. I'd recommend this to anyone with hair bleached to levels 8 or above looking for a week's worth of a whimsical and feminine color.

nice color and non permanent
Nice color and not permanent. I find the Espresso Brown fades but doesn't go completely away.

Twighlight Titanium is not Extreme Silver
TWIGHLIGHT TITANIUM IS NOT EXTREME SILVER - IT IS A DIFFERENT PRODUCT I have used Overtone Extreme Silver for several years. LOVED the product, the color and the wonderful mint smell. Also, loved the vegan and ethical approach of the privately owned company, and the story of the founders - 2 girls in their 20s building a company out of sheer gusto and ingenuity - so I stocked up on the product to support their vision. When my supplies started to dwindle I tried to purchase more but couldn't find it online. Then, I started getting bombarded with messages and videos on social media stating it was renamed " Twighlight Titanium". (Meaning the company is clearly buying personal information). I decided to purchase 2 batches (at a notably higher price than Extreme Silver) because my supply of Extreme Silver was running short. When I received the Twighlight Titanium I still had some Extreme Silver left, so decided to use that on one side of my head then add the Twighlight Titanium on to the other side. Hey, same product, right? BIG MISTAKE. Extreme Silver is purple in the jar, smells like mint and makes my hair shiny and soft. Twighlight Titanium is dark blue in the jar, smells like moldy bread, and left my hair dull and dry. My scalp was very itchy after use. It acts like a toner, there was no color change, just dulled and dried my hair. The label is so tiny I had to get a magnifier to read the ingredients. Guess what - harsh chemicals are now included. I decided to check the company to find out why the vegan, ethical stance changed. And you guessed it- PRIVATE EQUITY took over. 2 tech bros got involved, deposed the founders and put a not-for-profit (a.k.a tax dodging) guru in as the new President. Like so many great start-ups and family owned companies running ethical, profitable businesses, Private Equity has ruined Overtone. Why pretend the products are the same? Why pretend they are vegan and chemical free? Deceptive advertising is not going to earn you repeat customers. I might have been tempted to purchase if you had been honest about discontinuing a line and advising the ingredients now include some chemicals. Saying the two are the same is such a typical Private Equity lie.

Hydrating and Rich!
Overall, I like this product! I ordered the cherry chestnut color, and it came out a warm, red-toned brown. TLDR: I think they could benefit from more specific directions, and it would be ideal if the product came with disposable gloves, but it feels hydrating without weighing my hair down, and the color is lovely. It took a bit of trial and error to get the application right. The first time I did it, I just applied it straight onto dried hair and left it for 10 minutes as instructed. The color wasn’t very vibrant or consistent, but it still left my hair soft and shiny. The second time I tried, I split my hair into sections and focused more on even distribution. I also left it on for about 30 minutes instead of 10. This gave my hair a very shiny, rich color. I have a lot of long hair, and I was able to get 2 uses out of this container. BEWARE: this product is VERY staining. It stained my floors, towels and clothes during application, and stained my bathtub while washing it out. I was able to get most of it off my skin by scrubbing with rubbing alcohol, but I HIGHLY recommend getting gloves.

Semipermanent color
I tried the Overtone Semi-Permanent Hair Color Conditioner and was impressed with how easy it is to use. The color applied evenly and gave my hair a vibrant, refreshed look. It also made my hair feel very soft and well-conditioned after each use. I like that it doesn’t damage my hair like permanent dyes. The color gradually fades in a natural way without harsh lines. It has a pleasant scent and doesn’t stain as much as expected. Overall, it’s a great option to maintain color while keeping hair healthy.

I really wanted to love Overtone
I was looking for an easy self-apply, healthy and gentle product for my hair. Overtone came up in my search. I will start by saying the smell was minty and fresh and it made my hair baby soft. My hair looked nice and cleansed, refreshed in some sense. However, I had trouble getting color pigment in my hair. I had to leave it in for an hour a second time to grasp some color and apply very heavy handed. I would say after multiple attempts the product did seem to blend my roots with my colored hair somewhat but I wouldn’t say it’s saturated. The application is thick and clay like and wasn’t really easy for me to apply. It seemed to stain just about everything besides my hair lol. It never really seems to wash out of my hair after washing multiple times. Sink, bath and hands (gloves applied) but even just the water washing out stained my hands/nails. A lot of clean up needed and messy product. I am left feeling conflicted but it just doesn’t seem to be the product for me. No harm done but just not the color deposit and application process and cleanliness that I’m looking for.

Hydrating, Shiny, Long-Lasting Color (Just Wear Gloves!) ✨
I ordered the Golden Brown and I’m honestly so impressed. It works so well, super hydrating, really nourishing, and it leaves my hair insanely shiny. My hair feels softer and healthier every time I use it. If you want the full color payoff, definitely leave it on for the full 30 minutes. And make sure you really distribute it evenly throughout your hair. One important note: it stains (which makes sense because it’s depositing color lol). If you don’t use gloves, it will absolutely dye your fingers and nails so don’t skip them! I’m on week 3 and still have noticeable color. It’s obviously fading gradually with washing and workouts, but the tone still looks beautiful. Overall, such an amazing product, 10/10. I would definitely buy again! 🤎

Ineffective, Do Not Recommend
I am surprised by the low quality. I’ve only ever heard good things about overtone, everyone I’ve spoken to have raved about the high quality of this product. I wasn’t expecting anything too crazy, I just wanted to tint my dark brown hair to shine green in the light, so I purchased the “emerald envy.” It shipped on time, with undamaged packaging. However, the color simply didn’t take. The directions say to apply the product to dry hair for 10-15 minutes. For the first application, I let the product sit in my hair for 40 minutes. I rinsed it with warm water and no shampoo until the water ran clear. There was zero tint, so I thought: perhaps my hair is too dark? I bleached highlights into my hair and tried again. This time, I applied it even thicker and let it sit for a full hour before rinsing it out. The result is lackluster. My hair is beautifully soft and conditioned, but the color just won’t take. Unfortunately, this is just way too much money to spend on a product that simply doesn’t work. I really cannot recommend it.
