Wow, did I luck out! I must admit that I was hesitant about ordering this ash bucket because of all the reviews and pictures from previous buyers that indicate the bucket is not black, but gray. Phew, was I ever relieved when I opened the box and found a beautiful charcoal gray bucket just as described! I was so relieved. I took a chance because of Amazon's awesome return policy, so I knew I could always return it if color was wrong. It's the perfect size with a lid, sturdy, attractive and will serve its purpose well. Think outside the box, It's not just an ash bucket but can have many uses!

Was pleasantly surprised with how well-made this can seemed when we took it out of the box. Looks very nice and the lid stays on with the handle up (I saw a few reviews that said this was an issue). It was also larger than I envisioned and will suit our purposes rather well. They do need to update the listing though because this is most definitely not a black bucket, but more of a charcoal or gunmetal grey. We're fine with it since it's set in a fairly dark recess beside our fireplace, but some people will be disappointed if looking for a true black.

I was praying it was going to be heavy duty. And it is!!! Works great. Doesn’t look ugly. The size was even bigger than I thought which was fine with me. Easy to use. I wasn’t sure about that price but it was worth every penny.

Slightly smaller than a 5 gallon bucket. More grey than black. Seems solid and well made. I was skeptical about the price but it looks much nicer than some less expensive options. Hefty and sufficiently thick.

This item is not black, it’s charcoal grey, which is why I’m giving it the 3 star review. Well, that and it feels overpriced. I’m no expert on ashcan pricing or value, but it just "feels" overpriced. That said, I’ve used it once and it appears well made and sturdy. Time will tell. It’s large enough to hold nine days worth of ashes from my small fireplace which I use 16 hours a day. It’s aesthetically pleasing, packaged nicely, shipped perfectly, the lid seats nicely, the wooden handle wasn’t split… it’s just not black as advertised and seems overpriced.

Looks great and works well. Only caution is the colour. It is not a pure black, more of a dark grey. Still works well with a black tool set.
