These Winner Medical Calcium Alginate Dressings are definitely on the pricier side, but they were worth it when I needed something reliable for a difficult wound. The pads are non-adhesive, which was ideal for sensitive skin, and they were easy to apply and remove without causing irritation. They’re highly absorbent and stayed in place well with a secondary dressing. I noticed the wound stayed cleaner and appeared to heal more quickly compared to standard gauze pads. The material is soft and flexible, making it comfortable even for longer wear. If you’re dealing with a wound that needs extra care, these are a solid choice. Not something I’d use daily due to the cost, but when it really mattered, they delivered.

Just what I needed

OMG, these are brilliant, worth every penny. My dog had a diagnosis from the vets that she would have to have her tail removed as she had a cyst that would not heal. I researched online and found these for humans, which are used to close ulcers and the like. They have saved her tail. Every time I refresh the bandages, I see so much improvement. It has gone from an open sore to a small wound that is healing rapidly; it really has seemed like a miracle.

I had a trapped hair from shaving under my arm pit, so difficult to apply a plaster. Felt a bit silly, as I tried iodine guaze and it sterilesed it, but the wound was weeping until the coiled trapped hair came out. As Doctors were busy over holidays, saw this guaze and someone else had mentioned treating a trapped hair. It worked withing 2.5 days. Cut small squares of dressing, stuck with hypoallergenic micropore tape and changed 3 times a day. All infection and the trapped hair was removed and no need for antibiotics. Healed withing a week. Sorry if graphic, but I really recommend this. As I cahnged regularly, it was easy to remove, but instructions also recommend soaking in saline (I think warm water would do it too if needed).

I use these alginate dressings on tear skins on an elderly patient. They can be used on burns and all sorts of opened wounds, directly on the wound and helps the healing process big time!!

Très bon cicatrisant même pour les plaies importantes comme escares. Absorbe bien l humidité. Je recommande !

Meine kleine Tochter hat sich eine böse Wunde zugezogen und diese Wundkompresse war wirklich sehr gut für die Heilung. Sie klebt nicht an der Wunde fest, so dass sie leicht jeden Tag gewechselt werden kann, ohne dass meine Tochter Schmerzen hatte. Die Heilung geschah dann – wohl auch wegen dieser Kompressen – wirklich sehr schnell. Gebrauch und Einsatz und Funktionalität dieser Kompressen sind wirklich sehr gut.
