Excellent Product.
Excellent product. Easy to apply, quick drying. Value for money.

Easy to use but probably not the most durable finish
Goes on easily, particularly with a foam brush, as the consistency is like water. Good results on hardwood, plywood and MDF, resulting in a nice even, almost colourless, satin coating, However, it does sink in very readily so you will need at least three coats to build up a durable finish. Thus, I wouldn't call it "extra tough" as described.

satin finish water-based varnish
using this varnish which does not smell at all and is very easy to use, dries in about an hour and I went for the satin option which has left a beautiful finish on the wood that I am treating as a gift for somebody. I would very very highly recommend this product.

It's not really a very nice varnish. It dose a good job but is hard to get the desidered results because you have to apply a lot of the product... It oferă good protection against water and stain and surprisingly easy to clean. I wouldn't buy it again.

A nice finish at a great price. Has *some* issues you should be aware of though ....
Bought to give a nice satin finish to a newel post and banisters in my hallway. I didnt' want a shiny finish and thought that this would work very nicely. I'd read reviews before buying and some were quite negative - but I figured that it was from people who were using it wrong or at least using it for the wrong application. I was applying it on top of a water-based woodstain and was aware that this, also being waterbased, would have the potential to act as a solvent on the surface below. The trick here, is to apply it thinly to avoid drips. Keep a reasonably dry brush, keeping it moving all the time and simply do not over apply. When working in that manner, then it's perfectly fine. There were a couple of drip marks caused by the varnish dissolving the stain, but only when I had put on too much varnish in the first place. Once I did a pass of varnish, I simply checked it for runs and ran a dry brush over to tidy up. Took 3 coats of varnish to achieve a nice, sealed satin finish and overall I'm extremely happy with it. Ended up buying two bottles. Now, here's one 'fault' with the product that you should be aware of. When I'd applied the stain, I used some proper Scotch masking tape to keep the stain off the wall beside the stair post - and that totally worked. However, this varnish permeates the masking tape - which is something I've never experience before, so varnished the tape to the wall and I had to rip it off and re-paint the width of the tape. Thankfully, it's a recent job and I had the remainder of the paint can to finish it off. If I hadn't though, this review would probably have been a 1* job. So, remember - don't rely on masking tape! Had I got the varnish on the light wall, it would probably not even have shown up!

Very wet and not like normal varnish
This is a water base varnish and it very liquid in nature and is a cloudy white colour. The varnish applies well as a first coat. The second coat was applied one hour later and less product was needed to varnish the surface. A third coat became very watery because less varnish was needed fo that coat. The varnish has no smell and is quick drying. There is no stain colouring in this varnish. Considering it is water based the varnish coating is quite hard. I used foam brushes rather than bristle brushes and this gave a very even coat.
