Review: Good quality rug pad - Good quality rug pad. I ordered the 1/4 inch in the 2.6x8, 3x5 and 3x12. The 2.6x8 was the perfect size, no trimming required. The 3x8 and 3x5 were an 1-2 inches too wide so I had to trim them down a little. The rug pads keep the rugs in place and keep them from moving on the harwood. I would recommend these and will buy more in the future as needed.
Review: Great rug pads! - Wanted to increase the sound deadening of my rugs because the floors in my apartment building are eeky and creaky with every step, and I often hear the neighbors below. I had some cheap anti-slip pads from IKEA that weren’t really doing their job. These are a huge upgrade, not just in that the anti-slip is really good. First off, the sizes I ordered were true to size within an inch or so. I’ve definitely bought a “5 x 3” rug pad, but it ends up being “4.5 x 2.5” leaving you with a lot of overhang, not the case with these. They laid relatively flat after being unfolded and didn’t leave any wrinkles you could see or feel in the rugs. I saw some reviews complain about the smell. Yes, they smell a little “chemically” out of the box. But once set up and with a rug on top, there’s no noticeable smell. I only have the 1/4” version, and the cushion effect is really good, my stiffer rugs feel a lot more comfortable to walk on now. I don’t see any reason to get the thicker versions. Overall, very pleased!

Good quality rug pad. I ordered the 1/4 inch in the 2.6x8, 3x5 and 3x12. The 2.6x8 was the perfect size, no trimming required. I had purchased a 4x6 faux fur rug. It was wonderfully fuzzy, but had absolutely no padding, and the smooth backing was slippery as ice. I tried a different anti slip pad first, but the rug kept slipping off the pad. This pad solves all the problems. It is exactly 4 x 6 feet. It is just shy of a half inch thick. ( I was going to get the 3/8 inch, but for the price, I decided to upgrade. I’m glad I did. It’s good padding, but I think anything less wouldn’t be adequate.) The 1/2 inch padding is thick enough to make it comfortable to sit or kneel on the floor. (Anyone can stand on these, but if old knees are comfortable, you know it’s good.) What’s really amazing is that—as advertised—the bottom surface holds fast to my laminate floor and the top surface holds the rug safely in place. The rug itself has uneven edges (it’s supposed to look like a fur rug) so I’m going to eventually trim the pad to more evenly match the rug. Previous reviews suggested that it is easy to trim. If I have any problems, I’ll update this review. Otherwise, I’ll say—especially from someone who had been shopping for a good pad for a while—this is an excellent non-slip pad and is excellent quality for the price. Edited later to add: Well, I came back to add an update, but I never actually posted this review. So, I’ll just add and post. Several weeks later and I’m still very happy with this pad. But I did want to add a note about trimming it. As mentioned above, the rug I have on top of the mat is not an exact 4x6. I needed to trim about an inch off the length and an inch off the width of the pad to make it fit underneath the rug perfectly. But it was not easy! I tried every kind of scissors I had in the house. A box cutter just shredded it. Finally, my guy came around with some industrial scissors (they looked like tin snips, but I don’t think that’s what they were) and his much stronger hands than mine, and he was able to make a nice, neat trim. With the right tool and the right user, the mat trims nicely with no fraying. I’m going to guess, when they show the picture of the mat being cut with regular scissors, it’d probably the thinner version and not the 1/2 inch. Still, very happy with this product!
