I read reviews about replacing the whole fob, replacing the exterior shell and keeping the original workings and purchasing a cover or pocket for the fob. After researching many items, I settled on this as the best option. Replacing the whole unit purchasers were plagued with problems getting the fob programmed. Replacing the exterior, there were issues with the workings not fitting into the shell so I decided that I would look for a cover as my fob worked fine. The issue was just that where the key ring attaches, the fob shell was broken. This cover fits PERFECTLY and functions as it should. The only slight difficulty was getting the key ring through the hole. I had to use a larger ring and needed an extra set of hands to pry it open big enough to get the fob attached but once installed all was good. Someone in the reviews mentioned that it was difficult to press the buttons and that they cut out where the buttons are so that they could use it, but I have not had any difficulties using the fob as designed. I definitely highly recommend this as an option if your fob is broken where the key ring is inserted.
