For the money, these are one of the best pair of sunglasses I've owned. I've been able to adjust them to a pretty close-to-perfect fit (still working on the nose pads), but they're pretty comfortable for extended wear. They're a bit heavy, but that's just good build - some of my other glasses were light but weak. The glass is holding up very nicely, good clarity, no scratches yet. UV protection seems to be good and the polarization ensures glare is well controlled. The styling is similar to the rectangle or oblong styles from a few years back that seem to be very hard to get anymore, which was part of the appeal for me. All the new glasses are either round or aviator styles - both of which I hate. Very seriously considering getting another pair - the price and quality make it tempting. Definitely glad I bought this pair!

These glasses arrived in a paper envelope, wrapped in two tight layers of bubble pack. They weren't damaged in any way during shipment, but maybe I was just lucky because, to my annoyance, they were not inside a carrying case or box, which you might expect with this quality of sunglasses. I like the lenses for being not too dark. You can wear them very late into the day without feeling blind. And judging by what I see in the rear-view mirror of my car when I look at myself, other people will be able to see my eyes when I'm wearing them, so if I forget to take them off while talking to someone, no offense will result. I chose this model because like the full metal frame surrounding the lenses, as they're less likely to pop out of the frame if dropped than when they're just secured to the frame at the top. Amber lenses are the best! That's just my opinion. Gray lenses preserve the actual colours of what you're looking at, but I prefer the warming effect of amber. Things look clear & crisp through these glasses and I'll be dropping my cheap drugstore shades into the nearest donations bin because the difference is huge. I might have preferred the contrast of black frames with the amber lenses but I don't mind that the frames are a matching brownish colour. But if they could make black on amber an option... This particular model from Flying Fisherman doesn't have a yellow-tint version for night driving but as I browsed around Amazon I found a pair under the brand name of Kimorn. They sell for $10 less than the Flying Fishermans and the photos show that they come in a micro-fiber pouch with a cleaning cloth, protected inside a cardboard box. And the kicker is the frames are identical, as in I think whoever makes these glasses for FF is also making them for Kimorn. So I recommend to anyone: browse exhaustively because persistence pays. Except that Kimorn doesn't offer this model in amber. Yellow, blue, black, gray, green, yes, just not my amber.

I rated these flying fisherman polarized glasses gunmetal with smoke lens (5) stars because they are excellent quality and inexpensive but I need to relay this additional info to other potential buyers. After initially wearing them for a whole day the tops of my ears ached a bit because the padded type arms where they meet the ears is thicker than what I am used to. I am sure I will get used to it but worth noting nevertheless. Also, these are polarized. Anyone not used to polarized glasses (I wasn't) should expect some differences. Our Nissan has had the side windows tinted with a dark type tint and when I wear these glasses and look through the tinted windows, I immediately noticed that all other vehicles have a discolored kaleidoscope/color changing effect going on. The only thing I can figure is that maybe the vehicle tint is also polarized thus the double polarization is causing this effect. Worth noting but I still really like these glasses. Purchased March 2014 for 18.22. I saw them before for 16 dollars and then they went up right before I ordered. ******************************* UPDATE 3/24/2014 I have had these for over a week now and have noticed a few more things to note about the glasses I have. There seems to be a flaw in the left lens. It is a faint blurred area in the bottom of the lens and can be seen easily if you look left and to the bottom when wearing these glasses. Also, the same lens has another blurred/glare spot at the extreme left if in the sunlight just right. Irritating a bit but these are still pretty nice and I will keep them. Maybe they are selling off the flawed glasses here?
