Sharp!!!
Best little knife we have ever own. So sharp and perfect for cutting small portions such as Fruits, Veggies, etc…

Knife we always reach for.
We purchased this knife 35 years ago in grocery store in Maui. That is the knife with rosewood handle on the picture. Original handle needed replacement but knife is still perfect. So when Amazon offered same knife we ordered it. These knifes are rivals to many time more expensive.

Nice blade, terrible handle
The wood handle on this knife had to be sanded down to match the plastic ferrule. Without that fix, this knife would hurt your fingers as the edge of the wood is fairly sharp and you can't hold the knife effectively without feeling that edge. But after shaping the handle, it's ok. Nice blade, keeps an edge, good length and shape.

poor quality knife
I recently sharpened 2 knifes this 5.9 deba knife, and another cheaper knife. started on 120/320 double sided coarse stone on the darker side and reformed the angle to 14 degrees on bevel side and grinded it flat on other side noticed extremely large burr around 1/10" that would not remove. feels & bends like paper I had to pull it off with a towel. moved up to 320grit after apexing both sides getting some weird burrs but not at big. moved up to 1500 grit and now I'm noticing that there part of the blade that appears to have small chips in it after I completely ground a new bevel. The whetstones I've been using have been flattened through the process as well. The other knife I sharpened in same manner is a 3 dollar pairing knife and that ones is shaving sharp with the same process sharpened to their prospective angles & same time apexing. I think the metal is either of poor quality or heat treatment sucks to be honest. I would not recommend buying this or maybe I got bad knife.

Average
Good Blade but the grip is not the best with cylindrical handle. For a Japanese knife, I had higher expectations.

Better than I anticipated
Two things: My wife and I are sushi fans, we both love all Seafood. I’ve always wanted a sushi knife and I saw this as a great opportunity to see if I could properly use a sushi knife. It looks really good and has a decent edge as delivered. I have not yet sharpened it because I am in a sling from shoulder surgery. I’ll do an update after I recover and have a chance to use it!

Questionable quality control
The etching is double-struck so the knife really does not look high quality

Very light, the type of blade you can find it in NESTO.

Handle is unfinished and didn't match terribly well to the black part. Used it for quite a while now and the handle has started to split (due to being unfinished). It would probably help if I'd kept applying mineral oil.

Bought as a gift, friends were very pleased. Stays sharp, easy to sharpen if dull. Good overall knife for its price tag.
