Lots of good answers too, don't get me wrong. But some are way out there. Procells are a brand-line of batteries made by Duracell to the same specs as a Coppertop. Identical. They are simply a bulk brand-line, packaged for use...not retail sale. There are no blister-packs or card-packs. They are the exact same battery as a coppertop. I work on Broadway shows and concert tours. Procell's and Energizers similar industrial brand are used almost exclusively here, as well as the medical industry. Because they work. My current show is a huge show...one of the most famous on the planet. We use ProCells in the wireless-mic packs. We replace them before EVERY show. They are only used a maximum of 3 hours a night between showtime and the time they are shut-off, and they always have plenty of life in them...but we don't take chances. There is no excuse for a show to be marred by interruption from a weak battery...we always use fresh. There are 4 AA batteriess per mic-pack and we have 32 mic-packs in use per show. Thats : 128 batteries per show. We do 8 shows every week, so that's 1024 batteries per week That's 5000 batteries per month...60,000 per year....you get the picture. We can obviously afford to buy any batteries we want. We buy Procell, and so does every other entertainment avenue and sector. Bonus story . Irrelevant except to show you get what you pay for: I worked on a massive Disney-esque kids show that was selling out arenas. (Think Power Rangers or similar) The concessions company sold light sabers that required 4 AA bats per wand. They sold about 3000 wands per show. They employed 4 locals per day for 4-6 hours doing nothing but stuffing batteries into the wands before the show. They were using dumpy Chinese batteries, and over 30% of those wands were returned daily. That is a HUGE logistics nightmare...massive... with regards to sales and customer satisfaction, not to mention needless labor costs to restuff them. Some would get so hot after a few minutes ...kids were getting burned. They switched barnads, cut a deal with Energizer, received two MILLION batteries from them over the course of the tour, and the returns/defects went down to about 2% Both Duracell and Energizer offer a bulk line like this, and there is no gimmick to it. **Q: are these in retail packaging?** A: These batteries are packaged in separate boxes of like six each.I would not try to resell. as they are not sealed in the small boxes and someone could switch the dead ones for good ones.It looks like a real deal and I am a Happy Camper without paying for the fancy names and packages at some hardware store. I use a lot of these type batteries around the house.
