Is this sharpener made in US or China?

My April 2020 purchse directly from Amazon ("ships from and sold by Amazon.com") is clearly marked "Made in China".

Is this sharpener made by classroom friendly supplies? if not is it comparable?

Mine says carl angel - 5. No marks about where made on it. Another sticker says the original, quality, since 1960. Works great, wonderful sharp tip.

how does it clamp down?

The clamp fits into the hole at the bottom of the front. Then you can just tighten it to the edge of a table or whatever. I don't use the clamp. I like it portable.
