I wasn't sure what size I needed and so I ordered a medium in fons and porter and a large in the other brand. THe fons and porter are stretchy and I have fairly broad hands. THe medium is very comfortable and loose. The other brands large feels about the same but isn't as comfortable for quilting to me

I don't believe so. These are great sewing gloves! I use them every time I sew.

No, they are not stretchy; as a result I went back to using Machingers gloves

Q: How soft are these gloves? I have extreme touch sensitivity to fabrics touching my hand. I'm hoping for close to fleece soft.

I really like these gloves. I ordered these and another brand and these are my favorite, so much so that I've worn a hole in two of the fingers after fmqing a hundred quilts. They are soft but not fleece. I would compare them to soft brown cotton work gloves with little knobs on the outside to help hold the fabric in place. They are not like gardening gloves...much softer and thinner. The other brand are white and much thinner but they fit tighter . These are easy on and off for changing threads.
