There is an art and science to henna…
I’ve been using this for almost a year now to cover greys and make my natural red/brown highlights stand out and I’m so satisfied. I wanted to note a few things. -You must mix with enough acid to cover greys. Coffee or tea isn’t going to work if you’re trying to cover grey. You MUST use a substantial amount of apple cider vinegar, otherwise the chemical reaction that makes the henna turn dark isn’t going to happen. -henna oxidizes after a couple of days. This means, the color you see when you first rinse it out is not the color it’s going to be. I always wait a couple of days after coloring to see how dark it gets. It will get darker. If it’s not as dark as I’d like, or my greys aren’t fully covered, I do a second pass over the areas I want darker. -henna is messy, and takes time. Just deal with it. I do it all in the shower with gloves to contain the mess. Yes, it does leave a residue in hair, but that always washes out after my second wash. -be sure to use conditioner afterwards to prevent dryness. Also, steer clear of any products with protein for a bit. Henna acts as a protein in your hair, and if you put more protein in after using henna, your hair will suffer protein overload which could result in dullness, extreme dryness, and breakage. All in all, henna is not for everyone. I’m willing to take the time, energy, and mess over putting harmful chemicals in my hair. And after a year of using this product, my hair has grown significantly, is incredibly strong, and absolutely beautiful.

Good, reliable brand
This is the second time I've purchased this brand to henna my hair. It predictably works and I get consistent results. I order the dark brown version because I like to darken my hair going into fall where all summer long it's damaged and lightened by the sun. Mind you I where at hat all summer to protect it but it's not full proof. This product makes my hair healthy, thick and dark. Last time I mixed this with hot raspberry leaf tea bc I wanted to up the red tones a little and added 2 tbs plain Greek yogurt for extra moisture. Turned out great. Dark chocolate brown with red undertones that was beautiful in the sun. This time I mixed with strong coffee to amp up the dark tones. I again used 2 tbs plain Greek yogurt for moisture. This time, another dark chocolate color more even dark brown tones. Lots of shine and feels soft and thick. I trust this brand and this seller didn't disappoint. The powders needed to make dark brown (henna and indigo) are premixed so you mix enough powder to thoroughly coat your hair. It's probably more than you think as my hair isn't even that thick and it drinks this stuff up. I had to make 2 bowls and my hair is just below shoulder length. I left on 1 1/2 hours. It doesn't smell great but for people complaining, get over yourself. This is a chemical free dye made from plants, that you then mix with liquid. What did you think, it was going to have added fragrance? Anyways good product, make sure you have gloves, this does not come with any and your best bet is to hang out in the bathroom with all your supplies. I lay old newspaper down on the counter, floor, toliet etc. Have my plastic wrap and hair turban ready. You can get a cheap hair turban at the Dollar Store. It will get stained. Really important to section hair. Even if it's top and bottom sections that's better than trying to force the product through the hair to get underneath. Trust me. Get it all on, wrap in plastic then put on the turban. These stay better than a towel and hold heat better than a shower cap. Leave on til whenever depending on your hair. Rinse really really well. Shampoo and condition. Done.

works for awhile
I received the three items: Henna, Shampoo and conditioner. the conditioner pump did not work. I had to open top in order to use. I found when I used the henna, it darken all my hair. As to grey coverage, it was not thorough. It did not cover all the grey. Those greys that were covered, turned to an orangey color after about two weeks. I followed all instructions: Coffee, ACV, etc. and waiting for two hours to process. I would use henna and "alternate" with L'Oreal's root coverup. Since the L'Oreals coverup process is quicker and easier.

It works
My hair is naturally dark. But have like 4 greys that I was tired of looking every time on the mirror lol. So I decided to try something chemical free and found out this product. This is my second time applying it and it really does the job. I bought the dark brown color and the first application lasted about 4 weeks. The smell is not the best, but so much better than the chemical hair dyes you can get in the store. Reminds me to matcha tea. The powder is green color, but once I put it in a bowl and mix it following the instructions it turns darker. My biggest fear was to stain my scalp, but it didn’t. I would recommend to wear gloves when applying it bc it can stain your hands.

Good color if not picky about matching grays completely
I've been using this product for years. I'm not high maintenance and don't have the time or money to go to salons but I started graying at 22 and now at 45, I'm over 50 percent gray but not ready to rock it yet. This one does the job, is all-natural, and inexpensive. It doesn't completely blend the grays but makes them like light brown highlights which I'm okay with it, as long as they're not gray. If you've never used before, be prepared, as it's not like a boxed hair dye you get from the store. It's a bit of a messy process and can be long depending on how dark or how much coverage is needed. I couldn't find before and after pics from the same time but the attached pic is my natural hair color with grays all grown out and hair was dry/styled. The other was freshly rinsed out and damp, unstyled.
