I wish I could give this can opener 100 stars!!!!!!! My husband and I are retired, and both have pain issues in our hands. We've always used a manual can opener, but just recently had to buy an electric one because it became too difficult for us. This opener lasted exactly 4 months, then quit working. I'm SO happy to have found this product. It is beyond easy...and opens cans so effortlessly and cleanly. The ergonomic design is perfect, and even works for my extremely small hands. I hope it lasts, but i would be willing to buy this again if needed, as it works SO WELL. This would make a great gift too!

This works great for normal and small cans, and is particularly useful if you have pet food cans and can top savers, as you may use a can for 1-3 pet meals and having zero sharp edge is great. Details: So there are directions on the box and inside on a leaflet for the opener. When it does its thing, you'll see most canned items actually have a smooth metal collar on the rim of the can, and then a second lid goes around that metal collar. This opener removes only the lid, leaving the inside collar intact. The end result is no sharp edges. Also it locks into place once you start opening the can so you don't use any grip strength to hold the opener onto the can. You'll have to hold the handle with one hand, and turn the knob with the other, but if you have reduced strength this doesn't require you to keep tension on anything between turns of the opening knob. The only drawback is if you happen to use the large 144oz cans (think cafeteria style to feed out 16 cups of whatever was in the can) this won't work for it. The larger cans have a much thicker lid/collar that this opener just cannot quite get ahold of and bend effectively to open the can. For those large cans you'll likely have to stick with the traditional piercing (wedge or wheel) type openers.

Awesome can opener. No more sharp edges like you get from a traditional can opener. This can opener is exactly like the pampered chef version, but far less money. However, don’t throw away your standard can opener. There might be a can here or there with raised ridges on the top of the can where this can opener can’t work. I’m still giving this can opener five stars because it works so well.

This works better and easier than any I've tried. Third one I've bought in the past 3 months and this is the absolute best. Also has a very convenient lid remover.

this can opener is great; I don't touch the messy lids anymore and it is easy to turn to open the can well worth my money. I am going to buy one for my sister that has arthritis.

Love this can opener! There’s a little learning curve, but once you get past that you will never go back to the old clunky can opener. It’s faster, smoother and functions better than any can opener I’ve ever used. Seems very durable and easy to clean. It says it’s dishwasher safe, but I give it a quick wash in soapy water.

UPDATE: Turns out there was a small page with instructions that I missed. It's SO easy to use now that I know how LOL [FYI - turning the knob in reverse will get the opener to release] Still a pain to drain tuna, but that's not the can openers fault. LOVE this opener and how easy it is on my hands and wrists. Highly recommend. *** I just can't seem to make this thing work. I eventually figured out that it will lock onto the can automatically when i start turning the knob, but no matter what I do, I can't get it to release when it's done cutting. I fight with it EVERY time until it just finally pops the lid off. Love that the can edge isn't sharp when using this, but I didn't think things through very well when I bought it. I only need it for cans of tuna and when using this opener, I can't press the kid into the can to drain the liquid out. Now I have to dirty a strainer, as well. BUT, it cuts beautifully. Very easy on my hands and wrist.

Tried to open multiple cans, each time I can't pull the top off because the grabber isn't holding on. Had to use a knife to open my cans five times now
