Review: Has blue dye in & comes with no packaging or instructions that you would expect for such a product. - I know I should probably know better than to order something like this from desertcart but I couldn’t find it anywhere else and needed something like this after whitening my teeth before getting some new replacement crowns. First thing I noticed was it was bright blue!! Why would something designed for teeth whitening have ANY colour in at all? So much for the saying ‘if it stains a white T-shirt then it stains your newly whitened teeth’! I still didn’t think not to use it though which I know is probably my fault especially considering the packaging was essentially just a zip lock bag with a cheaply printed barcode sticker on and nothing else that you would normally expect from something medical that is going in your mouth. I put some of it in my trays and this was a couple of days after I last whitened so I’m so glad that I didn’t do it instantly afterwards because I could see the blue dye all over my teeth staining them. I panicked and brushed it off after a few minutes but there was still a blue tint and the remaining bright blue gel was still stuck to parts of my trays even after I had rinsed them off thoroughly under cold water. If it will stick to the trays it obviously will stain your newly whitened teeth as well so what is the point of having it in there?? It is a type of colour that washes off a bit compared to what it originally looked like but still it’s not enough to completely remove the colour and I don’t think a proper dentist would recommend using anything blue unless of course you were trying to counter a yellow stain which might be why some people are claiming it was whitening their teeth when it likely only toned down the existing yellow stains by staining them a different shade of colour. Something just doesn’t feel right about these though and the packaging is the main red flag for me because you have no idea what you’re really getting. At least from the dentist when you get the whitening gel from them you at least know whether they’re a reputable business and you know where you got it from and can complain if something goes wrong. These could have been made anywhere with literally anything inside them let alone the fact that they could easily be tampered with and you would never know because they could just seal the ziplock bag back up. In fact the packaging is so bad that one of them had popped open in the post and nearly went everywhere but luckily most had remained in the tube. There were no instructions either and I was a little confused about how to actually get it out of the cap and when trying to open the syringe, after it had already fallen apart previously in the post and I had to put the pump back in myself which must have caused excess pressure, it spilled a little when opening the cap. I use whitening tray and i can feel the sensitivity start as the proxcide starts to work so i immediately put it on top and bottom of tray and bite down to spread it. I use it like the whitener... Like the top coat of it but if your problem is a tooth or section that's small enough for you to isolate it to that one area then that ways fine. I think they tray thing is about amount you would need to use with out it... Assuming your intending on spreading it on all ur teeth. Instead of a mouth guard drop, your now squeezing out a Toothpaste size amount and that barely covers it **Q: Does this product REALLY whiten?** A: No it does not whiten it reduces sensitivity after whitening. It seemed that most people were using this for sensitivity due to whitening. I got this hoping that it would reduce sensitivity that is not as a result of whitening, and I am happy to report that it has. I don’t have sensitive teeth, I have one sensitive tooth. Actually it is the side of one tooth. My dentist could not identify any reason for the sensitivity, and put some sort of product on at my last cleaning, but it only lasted about a week. This would be way too expensive and time consuming to do every week, and whatever the product, they told me that they could not give (or sell) it to me, that I would have to come into the office to have it applied (big surprise) This stuff does not provide as much relief as the stuff my dentist applied, but I would say it is 75% as good, and I can use it at home, for a small fraction of the cost. For the record I am treating hot/cold sensitivity. This comes with 5 individual tubes, each with a cap, that allows you to reseal it. I have no idea how much you might need to use to treat your entire mouth, but because I am treating one small area, I only use a tiny dab the size of a pea (if that) Because I am trying to get it in-between two teeth, I take a flossing pick and work the gel in between my teeth. If you have sensitivity between teeth, I find this method very effective. Also the gel is thick and “sticky” so it does not slip off of your tooth, it stays on pretty well. Once I apply it, I spit out anything in my mouth, but I do NOT rinse my mouth. I usually apply this at night, and leave it there all night. Again, I am using this on a small area, so I am not concerned that I will end up swallowing any of the product, especially with it wedged in-between two teeth. If you are treating all of your teeth, I would imagine that you would want to use a dental retractor for the duration of the treatment. When I first got this, I applied it every night for about a week, and now I apply it about twice per week. I have been using it for about 4 weeks now, and I am still on my first tube. I expect that one tube will last me about two months or so, and you get 5 tubes in a pack.
