Merchant Gourmet Spicy Cajun Style Lentils and Red Kidney Beans

Tasty, but a wee bit sharp!

Came across these by chance when looking for a healthy alternative to microwave rice. I have tried several variations from the Merchant Gourmet range, but these are by far my favourite. They complement many dishes perfectly, from grilled chicken breasts to sauced based dishes, such as curries or meatballs. The flavour is fairly mild, so not something I would eat on its own, and the texture is lovely and crunchy, therefore adding a lot of interest to meals. Easy to heat. Although, I'm not sure a bag is sufficient for two people! I would happily eat these every day.

Peri peri is delicious. The tomato isn’t as great but a good source for grains.

The delivery had one packet missing and one partially opened. All the Tomatoey packets are best before Sept 2025 in both trays. The Piri Piri are all best before March 2026

Quick convenient and tasty😋

The texture of this product is very pleasing. They are at home in most dishes as they are not flavoured. I use a lot of them.

Buy these regularly for my grandson at Uni. He loves them as they’re quick and easy to heat in the microwave. Just perfect for those on the go!

You could eat this easily on its own, or use it as an addition. It works and is so tasty!!
