Pros: My tomatoes grew fast and full—super easy to use and made my garden look amazing. Great for quick results, even in pots. Cons: Feels a bit “chemical.” Needs compost backup. Here is my Garden Homework. Growing these tomatoes has been one of the most rewarding gardening experiences I’ve had. I started with the green clusters—watching them slowly ripen into vibrant reds, rich purples, and golden yellows felt like magic. Every variety had its moment: the deep mahogany cherry types were juicy and sweet, while the large heirlooms packed bold flavor and meaty texture. The plants themselves were healthy and super productive. I ended up with bowl after bowl of tomatoes—enough to share, can, and snack on all week long. They also ripened consistently, and the color range added a fun, decorative touch to the garden and kitchen. 🍅 Whether you're a beginner or a tomato nerd like me, this mix delivers big time on flavor, yield, and just plain garden joy. I’d absolutely grow them again!

Worked nicely, easy to apply and overall the tomatoes are looking great! About 3x the yield I had last year when I did not use any plant food.

While I normally use granular organic fertilizers in the garden, this water soluble option has its benefits. It's great for watering seedlings (I use it at half strength for this) or to add a boost to liquid organic fertilizers (such as fish meal liquid). It's easy to use, dissolves readily, and I like that the fertilizer comes in three sealed sleeves in the pouch. That helps to keep the unused portions fresh and clump free in storage. While it's not an ideal fertilizer to use exclusively since it doesn't help with soil health, for special uses it provides good functionality and is a good value.

Although this is sold as a tomato plant food, the packaging suggests it can be used for most flowering and fruiting vegetables. These include squash, peppers, cucumbers, and carrots. All of these plants prefer a slightly acidic soil, but tomatoes do better with a PH of 6.2 to 6.8. To prevent blossom rot, tomatoes often require an additional supplement of calcium and magnesium. Calcium is also beneficial to carrots, peppers, lettuce, and a number of others. Calcium is a macronutrient that contributes to plant growth, development, and disease resistance. It is necessary for cell walls and chlorophyll synthesis. It is an important component of the cell membrane and helps maintain the structure of the cell wall. This plant food does include magnesium, but not calcium. This plant food does seem to work for my tomatoes, peppers, and lettuce, but I also periodically use a calcium/magnesium supplement for some of my plants. It should also be noted that when this fertilizer is used with a watering can, it should be added after you fill the watering can with water. If you add it to the watering can before adding the water, you will get a half watering can of foam. I hope this review was helpful for you.

This is a balanced fertilizer that I use as an all purpose fertilizer. I use it every few days on my indoor garden of lettuce, spinach and Tiny Tim tomato plants. I also use it for outdoor veggie plants and combine it with extra phosphorus (bone meal) for flowering and fruiting veggies like tomatoes, squashes and peppers. (Do not use Miracle Grow All Purpose fertilizer in your garden except on leafy greens. Too much nitrogen.)
