Acrylic/Enamel/Laquer?** A: "Two-component acrylic resins", from Mfr's Technical Data Sheet. No mention of Urethane or Epoxy on the datasheet. **Q: can i use it my my plastic headlights, and if so, do i need an adhesion promotor?** A: I sanded with 1000 grit and the clear coat filled the lines in very well. I had previously used Meguires headlight clearcoat and sanded with 2500, but the lines were still visible after 2 coats - it also turned yellow and started to peel after 4 months. I sanded all the Meguires off prior to using the 2k to avoid any lifting problems. They looked great after 2 coats. Beware the overspray! I should have covered my whole car with a drop cloth. **Q: Can this product be applied over existing clear coat with out sanding. If so what do I clean surface clear coat with before applying?** A: You must must must sand the existing clearcoat as it will create a bonding reaction with the new clear ensuring proper adhesion. Wet sand with 1000-1200 grit and make sure you wipe it down with wax and grease remover before applying the new stuff. **Q: How long should you wait before sanding and buffing after spraying? What is the buffing window before it gets too hard?** A: I always wait 30 days before sanding or buffing when I have painted cars. But check with the manufacturer and find out what they say about there product. It has been my experience in the past when the surface feels dry to the touch the paint can still be soft under the surface. Used this for my motorcycle repaint job. It lays on nice and wet, super glassy and smooth after curing, and has given such a nice pop to the motorcycle. Dries smooth and clean to the touch, no tackiness and provides a very nice, hard protective coating. I did a green pearl color, the clear gives it incredible depth of color and polishes to a super high shine.
