BEST highchair ever!
I cannot say enough great things about this high chair. It is pricey but it's 100% worth the price tag. My only gripe is that the foot rest is not more adjustable. We had to create a little styrofoam shelf for my daughter's feet to reach for a while. However, all the other features are great. It is very supportive, it leans back slightly and it rolls around easily. The tray is easy to operate and clean. We love this chair!

great high chair, great customer service
I love this high chair, and the Peg Perego customer service can't be beat. I haven't found the stationary front wheels to be a problem - we have a tiny kitchen and when my baby is in the high chair, I lock the casters on GO and can roll it wherever I need it. The movement is smooth and easy. I'm also impressed with how compact it folds down - since it stands on its own, we fold it up, push it up to the kitchen table as if it were a chair, lock the wheels to STOP, and that works for us for now. It's also super stylish, and I get compliments from friends - everybody wants to know where I got this high chair. Luckily I caught a flash sale on Amazon and got it for a steal. Note that when you first get it, the arms will probably be a bit warped, and the tray table won't line up with the holes. You have to do a bit of work to get the tray in and out, and it's not a one-handed operation. I called Peg Perego and was told by their customer service that this is a known issue and has to do with how the frames are shipped and stored, and was advised to store the tray table in place in the arms for a week or two. So far this is working, and the arms are slowly correcting themselves. It's not fully corrected after a week, but it's on track to be fixed in another week or so. They did send me another frame but it had the same issue. I've been impressed with their level of customer service through this process, even if it was a little frustrating to get such an expensive high chair that had a warp issue. But that's literally the only issue with this chair, and since it's easily fixed and doesn't really detract from the high chair I can't knock any stars off because I love everything else about it. It's clearly a high quality item, every component is well made and works well, it's easy to keep clean as almost everything detaches, and my baby enjoys sitting in it. What more can you ask of a high chair?

Fantastic high chair - even for a newborn
This is the first review I've ever left on Amazon and it's because this high chair is awesome. I have a newborn that's a fussy eater and stops eating unless we place her in exactly the right position/angle. I had no idea a high chair was even an option for such small babies. I stumbled on the Siesta while in a store and remember thinking wow that's a good looking high chair... oh it's made in Italy? Even better. I researched online and saw I can use it for my 1.5 mo old at the time and I gave it a shot. We've had it for a month now and I love it. It's durable, easy to clean and the infant insert is super helpful, too. It was easy to put together and easy to change height. Only minor complaint is that it doesn't move well over carpets. That aside, it's a fantastic high chair that I know is going to last us may years.

New parents - Siesta for the win
As first time parents, we are absolutely THRILLED with our decision to purchase the Siesta. I’m an extensive researcher when it comes to buying products for our little one. I read hundreds of reviews and take weeks to make a decision. I can’t believe how much I love this chair. We love ALL of the features and haven’t experienced any of the issues others have had with the tray or maneuvering the chair around the house. The tray glides in and out of the slots, effortlessly and with one hand. I was a little worried after reading other reviewer’s experiences that it wouldn’t line up correctly but it’s SO easy to attach and take off (just squeeze and glide). Also, I really like that it rests on the back of the chair when not in use. I watched some YouTube videos that showed that feature. As for rolling the chair, it is difficult to roll forward. This can easily be fixed by rolling it BEHIND YOU. It moves every which way and isn’t a problem at all. I also read comments that you have to hold down the buttons to the go position while rolling, which would make it difficult. This is NOT the case! You can lock the wheels in the “stop” position, or temporarily move the chair by holding down the buttons, OR you can lock the buttons in the “go” position and then roll the chair around freely. We love that we can adjust the chair to reach our bar table, it’s the PERFECT height. We also adjust it to the lowest setting if we’re in the living room and sitting on the couch. The recline is fantastic, although our daughter hasn’t fallen asleep in the chair yet. It’s an excellent option for newborns that are bottle feeding, we’ve used it for that a couple of times. Chair is super easy to clean and wipe down and we have a MESSY eater. I also really like the buckle and harness because it’s easy to clean and is easy to snap together. I hated the harnesses I looked at on other high chair options. Too many crevices and very difficult to undo. Overall, we couldn’t be more excited with our purchase. We don’t have anything negative to say about it at this time but will update this review if we come across something.

The good and the alluring.
The good things: I agonized over which high chair to purchase for our first child. I remember the babysitting days of struggling with ginormous high chairs that pinched baby's fingers and legs, got gross baby food stains on the cloth seats and took up 10 ft in the kitchen. I determined it would be wood or something else easy to clean. We live in an apartment so a small footprint is essential to me. I didn't want something obnoxiously baby-ish with circus animals or Pooh Bear (sorry, people). I wanted something sleek that would fit with our decor and not stick out like a sore thumb in our small open-concept kitchen-living-dining. Also, the chair needed to be quality, well-made, and solid. Check-check-check. Peg Perego Siesta is all of that good stuff. The minor annoying things: The doggone tray does not stay in place when stored if you have to fold up the high chair. Ours is always falling off the way-too-small tabs on the back legs. It is stupid how irritating that can be. If we did not fold up the high chair to get it out of the way we wouldn't care about this. The "one-handed" tray situation is not really one-handed. I have to really pull hard and brace my foot against the chair so that I'm not pulling it with me. Maybe I'm doing something wrong and there's a finesse to it. (yes, I squeeze the lever) The strangely alluring bonus things: It's nice that the chair lays back. When you have to give medicine to a squirmy baby it is very nice to have them buckled in and laying back. The wheels. I really like the wheels. I know there are complaints, but I keep them in "go" position and we have fun during dinner with being able to wheel in closer, or push the chair away. It swivels fine. The foot rest. My kid likes it. The buckles. They are really easy. I got pretty orange pureed carrot on them and was able to remove them and clean them quickly. They look brand new. The "leather"-like seat. So. Easy. To. Clean. And, since we got the black, it looks sleek and spotless after. Raising and lowering the chair. What a crazy feature. I have used it a couple times though. I throw a couple toys on the tray and pull it into the living room, lower it, and baby can sit there while we eat in front of the TV. After all this, is it worth $300? I'm still undecided and I would like to see how it holds up over time. But, if the things that are important to a very-picky first time mom, are important to you, then you'll fork over the change and you won't regret it either.

Nothing works smoothly
UPDATE: I bought the Oxo Seedling and gave this high chair away. I am so much happier with the Oxo. It has all of the adjustments of the Siesta but they work more intuitively. It doesn't fold and doesn't recline as far but I didn't find those features that useful. But the biggest advantage of the Oxo is that the wheels turn in all direction and the chair can be easily rotated and moved if I need it to be facing me while I feed the kid. That's a feature I use ALL the time and everyone in my family agreed it was a design flaw that they didn't include it in the Siesta. I would only recommend the Siesta if you know for sure that you're almost never going to be moving it or rotating it. Of all the baby purchases this is the one I regret the most. Nothing is easy to do with this chair. I assumed that for the price it would be constructed in such a way that everything would work smoothly and easily (like on my wonderful Inglesina stroller - also an Italian brand). But it's quite the opposite. Almost all the levers get stuck or are hard to push and pull. Just now I tried to lean it back with one hand and I couldn't and my wrist is still hurting 10 minutes later. If you don't push really hard and get the angle just right, it won't bulge. The tray is also heavy and has to be fiddled with and put in just at the right angle, and is hard to take out because you have to push really hard on a button and then take it out horizontally. If you're not a strong person, forget it. Collapsing it is such a pain that we never do it. There's a way to do it with the tray still on if you press a hidden button and take out the tray just enough - not too much and not too little - and then you can rotate it. It's incredibly annoying to do in practice so we never collapse the chair even when we don't use it for months, even though we have a small apartment. Also you can't move it on wheels after you collapse it; you're supposed to lift the whole thing to put it away - who the heck wants to do that?? Also the wheels don't turn around so it's difficult to maneuver this chair. I knew about this but didn't realize how annoying it would be. If you want to change the angle of the chair just a bit or move it around the house, you have to use your strength or else do star-shaped maneuvers like with a car. Seriously, how difficult is it to put wheels that turn in all directions on a $300 chair? I bought this brand partly because I liked that it can be used with newborns, but it didn't end up being useful in practice because you'd have to strap the child in every time and it doesn't look that comfortable as a newborn sleeper. A rocker, bouncer or swing is much more useful if you're looking for a chair in which to put the newborn. The only good feature is that the seat cover can be wiped down and does seem very comfortable. I've kept it for that reason but I'm probably going to end up junking it and getting something that just works without so many bells and whistles that all get stuck and get in your way. Wish I had gone with the Oxo one instead.
