I started these seeds early. They sprouted in about a weeks time and are starting to grow. (I have them protected since and our average last frost date is still two weeks away) Jimmy Red corn makes the best grits! The flavor is just amazing, a bit sweeter than most corn varieties. The corn can be used for decoration if you let them dry on the stalk. I like the fact that they are an heirloom variety and not genetically modified. They usually have two ears per stalk usually, so there will be a good yield. I'm looking forward to my first harvest. ***if you want to plant early, google "average last frost date in _______(your area)" to make sure its safe to plant, or if you will need to cover them during the night as I did until that date has passed. I am at a higher elevation, so that is why I start my seeds early.

I would give it five stars but honestly it didn’t live up to hype, all it did was grow corn, I was hoping it would turn me into a famous bootlegger making whiskey and out running the law but it didn’t I just have corn. It’s pretty corn though
