I really like this jacket. It's still fairly lightweight for carrying (19oz, compared to 17oz for the HH Vancouver packable). This one feels a little less like a windbreaker, and more like a full jacket. Less breathable liner, and more solid liner. The hood packs into the collar. And while some may criticize how bulky this makes the collar, this also makes it delightfully warm on a slightly chilly day. Note that the jacket is not insulated, you still need a sweater underneath if temperatures call for it. But the jacket is a tad more substantial than a windbreaker. This is NOT a good jacket for wear in hot and rainy weather, it will get very humid inside very quickly. But for use with or without a an under sweater, this would be great in the Northern US, Ireland, etc. Ultimately, I needed a more breathable jacket for travel in humid conditions and returned it in favor of the HH Seven, but I would recommend this one in a heartbeat for Mid and north US use, along with travel travel to much of northern Europe, the UK, etc, and anywhere else where the average temperature during the rain storm is 75 degrees or less.
