Looks great in my aquarium
This is my second time buying these. At first, I was a little disappointed because one of them was kind of skinny and the end was slightly broken. However, one of the pieces was huge - about 2” thick. This more than made up for the scrawny piece. I have it standing upright in my aquarium, and it looks really cool. The other piece in the package was medium thickness, so I guess I received a small, medium, and large assortment. I boiled them for about 35 minutes and let them cool before putting in the tank. My shrimp loved them! I will absolutely buy these again when I need new ones.

Perfect.
Very Good. Its a natural product so yes it may release tannins and may have debris. YOU SHOULD be soaking this first in a separate container for at least 24 hours. I found mine was perfect in size and theres room inside for shrimp to hide. My three came in varying thicknesses so between them i was able to place the one i liked most in the tank. I glued an anubias on first and its a perfect host for the plant. Mine is currently soaking and the water is definitely turning brown, so mine has tannins for sure.

Perfect Wood for Shrimp Tanks – Natural and Durable
I purchased these 6-inch SunGrow Cholla Wood over 6 months ago for my shrimp tank, and it’s excellent. It looks natural, adds a beautiful touch to the tank, and gives the shrimp places to hide and explore. The wood is durable, sinks easily, and doesn’t affect the water quality. It’s a great size for small to medium tanks and adds a lot of character to the aquarium. Very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it for anyone with shrimp or small aquatic setups.

Nice Cholla Wood but much larger than expected.
Much large than expected. Only one piece will fit in my 10 gal aquarium since I have rocks, driftwood and plenty of plants. The rest will be saved for my 20 gal in the future. But they are nice pieces of cholla

Excellent decor for aquarium, BUT USE CAUTION!
I used these little mini logs to spruce up my hospital tank. They look great and once boiled and soaked nearly stay put without anchoring (I did have to anchor the top log with a rock, but no issue. The only issue I have is that after they were in the tank for a few months one end of a log opened up, it was not open before I placed in the tank. Long story, short, my beautiful Midnight (betta) wedged himself into the log without a way out. I had to perform an intense and excruciating extraction in the middle of the night. I had to use a dremel to saw the log in half while holding it half in the water and half out and without sawing my Midnight in half. I had to pull the little guy out of the log by his fins. Thankfully, he survived the fright-fest, but barely. He will be in fin and cranial recovery for many months. It's not the sellers fault, but wanted to share my experience to help make others aware of the possibilities.

Good product
My shrimp love these! After Boiling forever, I put them in the tank. They arrived in good shape, all about the same size with room in the middle to hide. The size is perfect for my 5.5gal tank. I really like these, and so do my shrimp.

Great addition to shrimp tank!
Perfect size for 10 gallon cube tank. Boiled the wood for 20 mins to help water log it, then let it cool down for 2 hours and it was already sinking. Went in my shrimp tank and the shrimps immediately started gathering to them to rest and pick at the wood.

Betta Death Trap
So many of us have shrimp with Bettas because there aren’t many other critters you can pair with Bettas. Shrimp are attracted to Cholla like magnets. But a beloved family pet Betta tried to hide in the Cholla and got trapped. We used extreme measures to get him out, but Bettas breathe air, so he was barely alive when we got him out. He died because of this Betta Death Trap. Do NOT get this if you have a Betta. THIS SHOULD COME WITH A WARNING LABEL AND THE BETTAS SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE PRODUCT PHOTO.
