THE END IS HERE! Six hundred million people. That's how many fall victim when a mysterious techno-organic virus is unleashed on Earth. Six hundred million infected. Six hundred million turned into mindless, rampaging killers bent on death and destruction. And that's just the beginning. Cities. Nations. Undersea kingdoms and paradise islands. One by one, they fall to the monstrous hordes. Now only Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and the rest of the Justice League stand between Earth and utter annihilation... But for how long? Nothing they've ever faced has prepared them for an onslaught of this magnitude. Nothing they've ever seen can match the scale of the tragedy and terror that have been unleased. As heroes and villains, gods and monsters are wiped out, only one question remains: What happens to the World's Greatest Heroes if the world ends? New York Times bestselling writer Tom Taylor (Injustice) joins artists Trevor Hairsine (Red Hood and the Outlaws) and Stefano Guadiano (The Walking Dead) to unleash an all-new vision of the DC Universe's darkest hour in DCeased . But be warned: the horror is contagious... Collects DCeased #1-6 and DCeased: A Good Day to Die #1. Review: A great apocalypse style story - Was a really fun read filled with a sense of nervousness about what heroes may actually survive Review: Beautifully written and drawn, heartbreaking and brutal to read - I'm a big fan of Tom Taylor's other work and so I was not surprised that this graphic novel is incredible. Everything from the character development, pacing and tone is spot on and you wont be able to put the book down. It's full of suspense, tension, action, emotion and heart. The art is also incredible and every single panel is beautifully brought to life with stunning detail. 10/10 P.S The hardcover smells really good

Fun but mostly forgettable
DCeased is a fairly solid and fun read, with lots of interesting situations derived from its premise and some surprising turns in the plot along the way. The book moves at a break-kneck pace and leans more into the schlocky action side of the zombie apocalypse premise than the horror. It's written with a fairly typical comics tone rather than with a more bleak tone you might expect. The result is it feels a lot like an out-of-continuity crisis book with an unusually large number of character deaths, albeit a fairly good one. Overall, your milleage may vary depending on your tollerance for gore and exactly what you expect from a zombie story. For me, I enjoyed it and intend to read the rest of the series as they are released.

Oh no! Not him too......
Hey there book lovers! It is your old pal, Ninetoes. Coming to you from Ninetoes Loves Books Headquarters. Today, I have for you a review of DCeased. I have coffee in my system and my thinking cap on, so let’s get to it! When I was a kid, my father bought me a stack of comic books. This was my introduction to the vivid world of storytelling that went straight to my heart. I even remember the titles: Spider-man, Captain America, Batman, Superman, The Justice League of America, and Sgt. Rock. Now the impact of this is two-fold. One, money was really tight back then. Two, Dad loved me enough that he spent a buck fifty on me. There were times after that he would take me to where he got those comics and let me pick out some. I always went to the groups, Justice League, Justice Society, Avengers, stuff like that because I got to see all of my favorite heroes and not spend a ton of money. Fast forward to today, and the kid in me still loves to get comics, but I wait for the graphic novel-bound edition of the stores to come out, and I wait for those to go on sale. Recently, I came across a book that intrigued me, DCeased. The zombie apocalypse came to DC Comics! At first I thought, “Oh, great, let’s do zombies…yawn.”, but I still got the book. Let’s face it, Batman as a zombie on the cover is intriguing. What brings about the end of the world? A mathematical equation and the internet. Seriously. Cyborg is on Apokalips, the home of Darkseid, and is infected with the Anti-life equation, and when he is returned to Earth, the equation gets into the internet and anyone looking at a cell phone or anything having to do with the internet and a screen is immediately infected. The effects are immediate, and even superheroes are subject to this disease. As in typical zombie stories, a bite is all it takes, such as with Batman, when he is attacked by the “Bat” family. Soon, all hell breaks loose and everyone is at stake. When the protectors of the earth become super spreaders, no one is safe. I will admit I was skeptical, and I got this book on sale. My skepticism was put to rest when I saw the art. The art is spectacular! It took my breath away, especially when it got down to blood guts and gristle. No punches were pulled in the art department. Then the story got my attention. It was a new way to spread the zombie virus. As much as there is terror, there is some humor, and when it hits you cannot help but laugh. another refreshing aspect is the use of heroes and the heroes themselves. It is a kitchen-sink affair of heroes, everyone from Superman to Booster Gold to Big Barda. This book collects DCeased #1-6, and DCeased: A Good Day To Die #1. It is the first collection of five, and as it stands I will be getting the rest of the books. It will take some time, but I will be getting them. I give this book 5 Bookmarks out of 5 and a very Happy Halloween! Happy Reading.
