This is a great product, I was a bit hesitant at first thinking it may not be as bright as it is promising but it's actually super bright, especially considering the (somewhat) small size. There is a manual included (it contains a picture description of how to insert batteries and other instructions) but I figured it out on my own fast and trust me, if i can figure it out, so can you, im not exactly a technical type lol. Basically you unscrew the top by the wrist band, pull out the holder for 3 AAA batteries, put your batteries in the holder and back in the flash light, screwing the cap back on. Simple. The flash light does NOT come with any kind of batteries, you will either have to get 3 AAAs or one 18650 - those look a little bit like double As, just fatter and they are re-chargable. There is a small plastic holder included so if you get the rechargable type, you insert it in the holder first, then in the flashlight. The flash light has a zoom by the bulb, you kind of push it and and out to make the beam wider or narrower, down to a tiny square. It's still a small light so it's not going to light up a block of buildings, but it does light a wall in a room or a tree top. The beam is wider and brighter than anything i am used to in this size. The square miniature beam is good for signaling in nature while hiking or as spot light, for example unlocking door at night, looking for the key hole. The material the flash light is made of seems very sturdy, metal and plastic. MEASUREMENTS: approx 6" x 1.2" PROS: - made of good quality, sturdy material - has a wrist band - you can regulate the light beam by twisting the top, goes from small concentrated square shape light to wide round light - if you dont want to waste AAA batteries, you can get a re-chargable one (type 18650) - not too heavy - bright, will light up for example a large tree top at night - the seller offers two different colors, army green and gold (i got the green one), i have actually reviewed approx 10 of these from different sellers and this was the only one that wasnt just simple black - 5 modes, you can click through them with the main switch, first 3 are different levels of brightness from teh brightest to the most dim (i couldnt tell much difference), then fast flashing strobe and the fifth mode is "sos" type flashing (slower than strobe) CONS: - currently priced at 23.99$, definitely steep comparing to all the other ones I have reviewed. They were basically the same, just black, and ranged from 10.99 to approx 19.99, the only two that were around or over 20 bucks both came with a rechargable battery and charger. This is the only reason why I took one star off the rating, because it is more than twice as much as the cheapest one that I have tested. - does not come with a battery or case
