Can you walk comfortably with these? I was planning to use them under my wedding dress since it gets so hot in there!

Yes and no. Best suggestion would be 2 pairs of underwear. One against your body and one holding the pack over that pair. It makes everything breathable and holds everything in place for walking. Not sure how the dress fits, but walking fast would probably be a little dicey. Definitely take a practice run! And congrats on your wedding. ;)

Are these really much better than aloe and witch hazel?

Hi Heather! We agree that checking with your doctor or midwife before applying anything is the best option. Depending on what they recommend, the sleeves make a great way to get both temperature-based soothing and apply tinctures at the same time (e.g., spray sleeve with witch hazel before using).

Am I understanding these right? You put them right into the pad/mesh undies after delivery (with all that grossness still coming out)?

Yup, I used them pre and post delivery. Getting "grossness" on an ice pack is an afterthought. This is far more comfortable than a diaper with ice in it which is what the hospital will give you. The covers are machine washable and the icepacks stay soft and don't freeze hard. They're awesome.

The short answer is: any way you want!! They work like most cold / hot compresses, just better :) ...  Many people use Pariday TendHer Perineal Packs straight from the freezer after vaginal delivery / hemorrhoid surgery / vasectomy / on C-section incision etc. Others use them warm and moistened to help promote stretching of the perineum during labor. Some users, like those with pelvic prolapse or vulvar varicosities, use just the soft gel pack with lubricant to reduce the chafing they would otherwise experience. New moms often will apply witch hazel (or their preferred brand of sitz spray) onto the red sleeves and wear them over the cold gel packs fresh from the freezer to recover from episiotomies, vaginal tearing, and other birth-related trauma as well as to reduce swelling from an otherwise "easy" birth ;) If postpartum bleeding is heavy, place the TendHer on top of a menstrual pad into your underwear of choice.
