I admire the creativity and cheeky fun if the story. And truth be told if a talking parrot is involved, even better.

I thought it was a children's book, judging by the cover but I love the kakapo so I got it. But as I was reading it, I couldn't decide who the audience should be. It couldn't be real young children as the writing was too grown-up. Ten year olds and over would demand more sophisticated writing. An adult, would think it too simple. The writer doesn't seem to understand about new paragraphs for new speakers or a new para, where required, for new thoughts - unless this was simply bad editing. This story maybe could have been so much better if the writer had stuck to one age group instead of obviously trying for a mass market. I do see some talent.

An entertaining new Christmas story that everyone will enjoy! Destined to be read repeatedly, not just at Christmas. Delightful!
