Gena Healthy Hoof Cream Complete Cuticle and Nail Care, to Moisturize, Condition and Treat Cuticles and Strengthen Nails, 4 Oz (Pack of 1)

The skin around my fingernails and my cuticles are always dry, seems every few months I go thru a cycle where they are all cracked, peeling and bloody at the same time. During this, my nails will all split or peel and I’m left with such a mess of my hands, it’s embarrassing. Then they all heal, it’s all good for a couple months and then BAM they all go terrible again. I don’t know why, I leave them alone, they just spontaneously get awful. It’s been a lifelong battle. I’ve tried every possible hand cream, cuticle oil, hand mask... everything. I got this cuz it was something I’d not heard of before and it was pretty inexpensive. First of all, this came when I was mid-skin crisis. I used this overnight and put it on extra thick. It didn’t seem to do much, but my fingers were so bad at the time I kept at it. The next night I woke up and they were smoother and no longer hurt, I could visibly see the broken skin healing. Day 3 was even better. In a week, my splitting nails looked smoother and were growing. My nails looked lovely and my skin healed. So I backed off for a few weeks. A month or so later, I could see the early stages of my cuticles splitting. I put this on that night and the next morning it seemed all healed. I’ve come to just put this on every other night before bed and my skin hasn’t been in crisis since I bought it. A few observations: I notice no difference in results whether I lay this on thick or thin. So I use as little as needed. This stuff is thick and it leaves a bit of greasy feeling so I use this overnight only. I used this during the day when I first received it since my cuticles and nails were a mess at the time, but i left finger prints of it everywhere. I just use it at night to avoid that problem. Overall, this has been a game changer. I’m really pleased with the quick results when I notice my cuticles starting to flake and you need so little that it’s quite a bargain. I think this is something I’ll keep on hand for a long time to come.

Bought this after seeing how it helped strengthen and grow my sister in-laws nails. Mine were horrible from all the gel polish and nothing was helping. Within a week of using this, my nails were growing again and stopped peeling off or brittle. Cuticles look healthier too.

This stuff is amazing. My nails were SEVERELY damaged by gel nails and then a caustic damaging removal by a nail tech. Two weeks of applying this twice daily have strengthened my nails, stopped the peeling and splitting. I am a believer!

I've only had this for a few weeks. So why the 4-star rating? It's because there's so little info on how to use it. You rub this on your cuticles once or twice a day. But you have to do it for months before you know whether it's working because it only affects the new fingernail growing out of the cuticle. You won't have stronger nails at the tips until the new hardened nail has grown out to the tip. This takes at least 3 months or more. There's nothing wrong with this product and I suspect it is a great product. You use so little of it each day, a 1 oz jar is plenty and will last a very long time. The scent... it's not great. To me, it smells like a mixture of cold cream and an old medicine ointment that my grandmother had in her medicine cupboard for many many years (the ones in the round metal containers). They could make it smell better that's for sure. It is kind of greasy for a while until it absorbs. Pros: I'm sure it helps strengthen after a while (months!) of using it, but it's too early for me to honestly tell. It does moisturize. A little bit goes a long way! Cons: The scent is not great... at all lol. Greasy for a while until it absorbs. Would I recommend? Sure! It's at a good price point that's worth a try!

I like that these are small so I can have a few stashed in different areas. This product keeps my hands and feet soft. Its a bit on the greasy side so I normally put it before going to bed or if I'm going to be on the couch for a while. After a week of using this on my feet it has made them softer. I don't use it as often as I should but when I know I'm going to be wearing shoes that show my heel this is my go to.

I live in a dry climate and do work involving my hands. Went through the jar in 2 months, using twice a day am/pm. Lather and let sit. I use other methods for keeping my hands and fingers moisturized like a layer of aquaphor on moisturizer and gentle lotion throughout day. However my cuticle area was still struggling as I manicure it and occasionally paint nails. My nails are slightly Brittneyof. This product is my first foray into having less dry cuticles. It didn't do much for my cuticles/brittle nails. My cuticles are still left dry and peeling. I suspect it can't keep up in dry climates or with working hands. The jar is somewhat useful for calluses helping them reduce.

I really like this cream! I had white spots on my toenails from dryness and this cream got rid of those spots within 3 days. It's is also great for dry, cracked heels

I'm not sure if the formula has changed at all since I've purchased, but I've been using this off and on for about 10 years now. There's still plenty left in the container because it only takes a small amount. I've had trouble picking my cuticles due to anxiety, but this has helped so much to heal the skin around my nails. When I eventually run out I will be buying another one!
