My favourite protein shake. Easy to mix and tastes very smooth.

Bought this because it was on offer. It tastes lovely, isn't grainy at all and I've bought another one since. I have IBS and I haven't had any nasty side effects at all. Very happy with this product.

Re-review: Positives: + No lactose. + No animal products. + Protein per scoop isn't too far of whey protein. + Seemingly a complete protein overall, based on the blend constituent ingredients. Negatives: - Variable taste. - Not cheap. - May causes bowel symptoms for those sensitive to FODMAPS. - Scoop was buried at the very bottom. If you are intolerant to lactose or you are vegan, this product may be for you as it doesn't contain any lactose. If you are sensitive to FODMAPS, I would be wary, as at the time of writing, pea protein is the largest component of the blend, which could cause FODMAP related bowel symptoms. In theory, pea protein should be low FODMAP, but some people have reported it causing them symptoms. Hydrolysed whey may be a good alternative for those with lactose intolerance, but I found hydrolysed whey still caused me symptoms. In terms of the protein contents, it is 20g per 25g scoop. Good compared to whey protein which is generally about 24-26g of protein per 30g scoop, the pricing also seems to be similar overall. For example, at the time of writing, Optimum nutrition Gold Standard is about £38 for 30 servings. This results in a cost of £0.05p/g of protein. I bought this vegan protein for £22.19, for 30 servings. This results in a cost of of £0.04/g of protein. However it should be noted that Optimum nutrition is better value in larger pack sizes. For example, for £130 you can get 151 servings at the time of writing, also leading to a price of £0.04/g of protein. It is also hard to say which has better proportions of amino acids and bioavailability. Whey protein is generally recognised to work very well. In terms of flavour, I have tried both the banana and strawberry and cream. The banana flavour was undrinkable with almond milk. The strawberry flavour tasted very earthy, and I couldn't taste any strawberry, but it was manageable, and smelled nice. In general, if in doubt about protein flavours, go for strawberry. In terms of mixability, I find it a bit worse than hydrolysed whey, but it isn't completely awful. The final result is very creamy even with almond milk, which is quite nice. One warning that I would give is to be careful of heavy metals in these products, this goes for whey protein as well. Overall I can recommended this protein powder if you can deal with the taste, and you also cannot go with hydrolysed whey.

I bought this as I often see this brand recommended and particularly this Wondershake. I’ve recently been diagnosed as lactose intolerant as well as Coeliac so needed to change from Whey to plant protein. I’ll be honest the shake is smooth and creamy but most important to me is taste. The initial taste was ok but OMG the aftertaste was vial. I felt like I’d eaten a handful of earth. It hit the back of my throat and made me feel nauseous. It’s a large pack so I’ve tried adding other stuff (fruit etc.) and dairy free milks but can’t get rid of that earthy aftertaste. If this is the best of plant protein…god help me!

The protein wondershake is pact full of nutrients,that I have more energy and clear mind.Beautiful product and really quick delivery.

I am not vegan but I purchased this out of pure curiosity due to the claims of it being as creamy and tasty as whey protein. I've tried other vegan protein powders in the past and this is for sure one of the better ones. The texture is smooth and on par with whey protein powders so no issues there. However, I could immediately smell and taste the 'earthiness' that other vegan protein powders suffer from. I got banana smooth flavour. It wasn't overly sweet or artificial tasting. It does a decent job of making the drink palatable but it definitely wasn't delicious and something to look forward to due to the earthy taste in the background. I got this at a decent price thankfully. It definitely isn't worth the RRP. I bought 5 tubs but will be cancelling my other 4 because it just isn't that nice in my opinion.

Best tasting protein powder ever had, I have this every day for breakfast, looking forward to trying other flavours!

I liked it because it’s relatively low calories to protein content. But it’s like drinking raw pancake batter. Maybe better to cook it into something.
