Made in America by a company that, without a doubt, believes in building a quality tool. Aircraft grade aluminum, strong hard rivets, Lazer etched graduations and 2 beautiful colorized American flags! It's almost too beautiful to use and could be a wall hanging in a Man Cave or business office. I'm going to have to use it eventually but look out to the first person who drips something on it, some gentle cleaning and inspection will be coming their way. HOOYAH !

Can't get any simpler than the headline - it's just not square. It was off just over 1/16" over the 48" span. It does make a nice straight edge, but that's about it. It's a shame too because it's not flimsy at all. It is built very sturdy. It's just not square. There are 4 rivets at the top that hold the two pieces together, so there's really no way to adjust it short of removing the rivets and replacing them with some bolts or other fasteners once the blade has been adjusted so that it's truly perpendicular. Mine was blue instead of the silver one that is pictured - which I believe another reviewer pointed out, but I didn't really care about the color, just as long as it worked well. The shipping box it came in was not in any way damaged, so the problem can't be blamed on that. The one I got did have the bar code sticker on the back instead of the front, which some other reviewers were complaining about, so it's got that going for it!

This square isn't square. It's off by 1/32" at 16 inches or so. So the inaccuracy will continue to grow as you go further out. So why do I give it 5 stars when it isn't square? Because for drywall, that level of accuracy isn't required. You *need* gaps for mud anyway so what does it matter. I took a chance and ordered to see if I can make my tracksaw's crosscut to be more accurate. And it looks like it won't be accurate enough for that. I can't ding them on an application it wasn't designed for. It seems solid, there are multiple rivets at the attachment point, and the extra thickness is much appreciated. It's just not accurate enough for woodworking though.

I'm a inspector & this is a heavy duty square that gets the job done. Better than most.
