Incredible Lens – Razor Sharp & Perfect for Every Shot
The only lens I would bring on a trip if I had but one choice!!! This Sony FE 24mm is simply outstanding. The image quality is razor sharp from corner to corner, with beautiful color reproduction and excellent contrast. Autofocus is lightning fast and whisper quiet, making it perfect for both photography and video. Low-light performance is fantastic, and the bokeh is smooth and pleasing. It’s lightweight yet feels premium and well-built. Whether I’m shooting landscapes, street photography, or video, this lens delivers stunning results every time. Absolutely worth every penny — a must-have for any Sony shooter!

My Everyday Carry
This lens is a permanent main-stay on my A7CII. It's the perfect size and focal length for everyday carry. The lens is light, sharp and the autofocus is snappy. Not much of a bokeh king but you get really crisp subject separation.

Good for Hybrid Content creators
As a photographer and Videographer, I've really loved using this lens. I especially love that they added the de-clicked and clicked aperture ring, which is perfect for hybrid videographer/photographers. The lens is certainly small, but performs at a pro level, and creates a clean image. I did recieve this lens at a discounted price, but I do find the performance matches the regular price. It is a strong performing lens.

Underwhelming
I use an A7Rii and had wanted a small and light 24 mm mainly for street photography (I am not a pro so this is a hobby). I own the Sony 24 - 105 which is a great lens but gets really heavy when lugging it around all day and it is hard not to get noticed when using it (I take a lot of photos in Europe, often in not particularly great areas). My other main lens is the Sony 35mm 1.8 which I really like but I wanted something wider. I was about to pull the trigger on the much more expensive Sony 22 mm 1.4 GM when this lens was announced and I decided to wait and give it a try. After a week of taking a lot of photos, my experience has been mixed. The plusses are that it is so small and light and the RAW images are pretty good after working with them in LR. The native JPGs have been less impressive (which could vary by camera). But due to a huge amount of barrel distortion the RAW files are unusable without correcting in LR (and at present LR does not have a lens profile for this Sony so it all has to be done manually). I spent a ton of time deciding whether to return the lens or not and in the end I thought the small size worked for my very specific needs. I also like the aperture ring and custom button. But in general I am underwhelmed with the optical performance of the lens (it is not as sharp and the colors are more muted than my Sony 35 mm or 22 - 105) and so unless you need a very light lens and are wedded to Sony glass, I would either go third party and cheaper or buy the GM 22 mm lens. And if you shoot RAW, I would wait until Adobe releases a lens profile before purchasing. Update: Adobe has released the lens profile and this makes using the lens much easier and the results seem better.

Fits nicely with Sony's FF Compact.
I own 3 GM zooms , and a couple GM primes. I was always hesitant to purchase these because of the price for what you're getting. And I've come to use Sony only for professional work, where I play with Fuji and now Nikon ZF for fun -- however this lens combined with Sony compact FF has made me reach for my Sony more often because of how light and out of the way it's been. Optically it's good enough, I pair it with the ZV-E1 so 2.8 is more than enough for low light, and I've grown out of the (super) bokeh phase. Auto focus is top notch with any modern native lens. I'll probably pick up the 40mm too since I already have a 50GM.
