I use these at my cottage under the sink. I couldn't buy the original manufacturer's variety so I was nervous to find a replacement brand. These ones have been great though, they do the job and our water tastes great. I follow the recommendation to replace them regularly and they clean up easily. I haven't noticed any problems and will continue to use these in the future.

On our second, 4 pack. Bought these 10 micron filters to use with a Culligan HF-150A housing to protect the water system in our travel trailer. We use bottled water for cooking and drinking so I only rely on the filter to protect against silt coming into water system, especially the hot water heater. The picture is after 2 weeks (1 week each back-to-back) in two RV parks. I know one uses city water and then the coloring comes from a park that I suspect uses well water or has some galvanized pipe as we've been there before and had the same results with a new filter only used there. The material looks like rust or sediment so glad the filter is keeping this stuff out. These cost about $3.50 each so a pretty good deal compared to the filters that come with a disposable housing. The Culligan housing was about $17 + $10 for fittings and covers. (Fabricated my own stand.) I cap the housing while traveling to campgrounds and reconnect within 2-12 hrs depending on distance. Then flush the hose and filter for a couple seconds before connecting to the trailer so no worries about bacterial growth. I've gone 17 days at the longest but would feel comfortable going longer depending on how many times the line is disconnected. They are house quality (for sediment) but in a house you normally break the line every 3-6 months. Fits the housing fine. The picture shows how the housing compresses the ends with a bead to seal it for use. So far so good.
