Ronja the Robber's Daughter Illustrated Edition: The Life and Soul of Wilson Pickett

Loved watching the series with our kids. We love this story

One of my favourite children's books of all time. The characters are so brilliantly portrayed you can't help but love them all.

I love the Studio Ghibli animated version of Ronja the Robber's Daughter. I love the light, the breeze, the snow, the trees, the weight of Noddle Pete's little cape as it slides off the table when he moves to stand up, the flames, the woodland folk and all those tiny little details which bring it all to life so beautifully, but, above all, I love Birke. Birke is the one true friend that everyone should have and that everyone should aspire to be. Please buy this book, even if you don't have children to share it with, just to get to know him. This is a perfect book to share with a child at bedtime. Read it with care, don't rush through it with too many chapters all at once. Let the characters and scenery come to life in your imagination. Who wouldn't want to be Ronja, living in a castle in a forest with a band of robbers, or better still, to be Ronja living in a cave in a forest without a band of robbers? This is the sort of book that a child will want to take out of your hands the moment you finish it, so that they can read it all over again by themselves. It's written for children, so the language is simple, direct and easy to follow, and the pictures it creates in your head are amazing. This edition contains pictures and sketches taken from the animated series, which I think only adds to it's charm. Buy it, read it, share it, watch it. Love it.
