It is so directional that you can focus in on something you want to listen to without having to hear what is right next to that. Easy to use and adjust. I expected a toy that would would work ok and have some sort of directional functionality. When I tested it, it only amplifies the noises in the room. Especially aplifies voice, but remember that it amplifies every voice. Voices behind you as well as in front. Fun toy but so far as I have tested, it does not matter where you point the thing.
