This is a really good product and has been very useful for monitoring both moisture and temperature in my shed. I keep a lot of tools and electrical equipment in there, so being able to track conditions properly gives real peace of mind. The readings seem accurate and update quickly. Super easy to setup in their app and all the data at your finger tips including yearly. The WiFi and app features make it especially useful. Being able to check the shed remotely and see historical data is fantastic, and alerts are handy if humidity or temperature moves outside safe levels. The device itself feels well made and discreet. It’s not the cheapest option, but the quality and smart functionality make it very good value for money. A great solution if you want reliable remote monitoring for sheds, garages or storage spaces.

Great product! Have yet to see for how long the sensors will survive in the environment I am using them in: a build site which is not heated yet (in the Balkans) but which is protected from the elements. One sensor is mounted inside the rack where I have some live electrical equipment (CCTV NVRs, Wireless router, POE power injector etc), while the other sensor lives outside the rack and measures the ambient air values in the room where the rack is mounted. Love the fact that the temp sensor can be manually calibrated (have not yet been to a calibrated weather station to calibrate my sensors but will do that soon). Worth mentioning that when I unboxed both govee sensor and left them to acclimatize for about 2 hrs, they displayed temperature differences of about 1.1⁰C. I have then averaged out this difference by reducing the temperature reading on one sensor by 0.6⁰C while manually increasing/adjusting the temperature on the other sensor by 0.5⁰C. One aspect I wish I had paid more attention to prior making this purchase is the fact that this specific hardware model (based off of my post purchase further research) does not support setting custom temperature thresholds/alams. This is one of the functionalities I wish I had. Hardware I use is: Govee H5179 (2x pack). Price at time of purchase was: £33.98 (on 14th Dec 2025). Device feels heavy as takes 3x AA batteries (all batteries were included in the pack). App is nice and intuitive. Firmware updates are easy. Remote connection is simple via Govee app. Have found that the measured values refresh rate (10min/30min/1hr) can only be set when you're on site and connect to the device via Bluetooth (can not be adjusted remotely via internet). Love the "Multi-device data comparison" function within the app (only works when you have two or more govee devices adopted in the app). Hope this helps whoever considers making this purchase.

This is a great little device. I have one in my mini greenhouse where I grow chilli plants which are quite sensitive to temperature. I've had to use a small fan heater recently due to cold nights and this unit is great for monitoring the heating/temperature drop cycles as the thermostat cuts in and out. Also great during the day as the sun warms the grow space. You can set alerts direct to your 'phone/email once a certain temperature is exceeded. Then you can act and open up the ventilation/shut off the heater, or whatever. As well as temperature and humidity you can monitor Vapour Pressure Deficit as well - as I understand it, a good measure of the amount of drying power the air has on your plants and how much moisture the air sucks out of them. You get graphs on the app showing the trends in temperature, humidity, dew point and VPD. Mine was still working well in 59C inside the greenhouse. I believe the spec says they're ok up to 60 Celsius. They do take a bit of time to update and load data to your 'phone over the web in practice; it's not quite real time, but good enough. The device is easy to set up and the app is better than most of the connected home apps around. You do need to set up a free account but as far as I can see it's pretty hassle free. Nice product - well packaged, good form factor and works well with a good app. Have already bought another.

Sorks very well and seems to be accurate. Very easy to set up and WiFi connects very well even outside in my shed/workshop the only issue is when trying to load the history it seems to take a very long time (few minutes) to transfer the data to the app. I have been using it for 7 months now and the batteries are still showing 100% so I would guess they should last a couple years at least but will have to see how they hold up through the cold months. The only thing I do wish it had was a little screen so I could have a quick glance at the temp.

Have to retry once or twice to connect but made it work. Frequent updates on demand meant I can easily track the temp and humidity in different rooms. Shows the humidity changes in a bathroom. Good value compared to other similar products whilst not requiring a hub. The only con is missing matter compatibility.

I Brought this to monitor the temperature in my summerhouse & can't knock it ATM as it does what it says on the box ,I have decent wi-fi in the summerhouse and was easy to connect & as soon as you open the App on your phone it refresh's ( unlike another one I purchased before this one & had to send back ) ,it makes it easy for me to keep an eye on the temperature/Humidity levels & if we are going to use the summerhouse in this cold weather I check the temperature & if chilly I can then switch the wi-fi oil radiator on a couple of hours earlier to heat it up so it's just right before we go up there 👍Takes a bit of time to settle down to correct temperature etc when installed but other than that perfect & easy to use App ..

Fantastic smart thermometers that I have been using at my work place to monitor the temperature remotely (we have had boiler issues, so I wanted to know if the heating has been turning on automatically) and by remote monitoring with these, I have been able to keep an eye on the situation/head down early to rectify if I spotted the heating hadn't turned on. I ended up buying 2 more of these, as I have been so impressed with them. Really easy to install/use with the app.

Should be good but is effectively worthless. After the initial set up I was initially impressed and the app was great for checking the temperature remotely from anywhere. However after a few hours the device lost internet connection. I reset everything, same result - great for up to two hours then lose connection to router. After the 5th reset I gave up. For clarity, the device was less than 10 yards away from the router, brand new batteries, very strong signal and good internet access from my router. Bluetooth also kept dropping out when resetting. should be good but a complete waste of my time. Amazon handled return very well, no complaints there.
