Lecithin removes cat hair balls. Hair balls are 50% hair, plus 50% fat which clings to it over time, making them too bulky to spit out or poop out. Lecithin dissolves the fat, so the cat can get rid of its hairballs. I usually give my cat a bottle or two per year as hairball prevention. I dose at 1 capsule (600 mg) two times a day with his food. Lecithin must be given with food. Only Egg Yolk Lecithin is okay for cats, not Sunflower or Soy derived Lecithin. For adult humans, Lecithin max dose is 1200 mg with meals 2-3 times per day. It is safe for children as well, but lower doses. Lecithin keeps all fat in meals and in the body in a dissolved liquid state, so it does not settle into the body, but is excreted out in stools. It also helps lower cholesterol levels (add some fiber in diet at night), and is good for the brain. Humans can have Soy or Sunflower Lecithin as well, which are cheaper.
