What is the rat card for?

The Safe full of rats is treated like any other Safe card (with gold, guns, etc inside). However, the Safe with rats is not worth anything, so it is usually the worst Safe to own. It can be used as a decoy safe (trick someone into stealing it instead of one of your valuable safes).

Can this be played played solo?

There is not a solo mode. 2-9 players.

Is this a good 2 player game?

We haven't played just 2 players, we have 7 people in our family. It has special instructions for 2-3 people, and I would imagine it would still be fun. The game is one of our family favorites!
