Good product, good replacement for butter and vegetable or canola oils
I have a lot of severe food allergies and intolerances due to GI issues. I also have problems with various oils and especially some olive oils or worse, corn or canola oil. We needed something we can bake or even fry with since I cannot consume regular oils. This one is perfect. The light taste is Pompeian is perfect. We mistakenly purchased mild taste about a week ago, and I immediately knew the difference. My food tasted...wrong, although the mild taste is good for certain foods but not right for baking and frying because I could taste a mild hint of it. So if you n eed a neutral tasting oil to fry with or use as a butter replacement, Light Taste is perfect although, there is a small hint of light taste that works in balance with the taste of the food. I actually used this olive oil as a replacement for butter in a Pineapple Upside down cake, and was able to caramelize the icing with brown sugar just using this olive oil. No one knew the difference and l oved the cake. The oil is not saturated so it stays liquid in room temperature, meaning it is not bad for you like oils that turn solid in room temperature. Oils that turn solid will also do so in your arteries. I don't have to worry about that for this. As far as other flavors, the Robust flavor Pompeian Olive Oil is very strong. My husband purchased Pompeian robust by mistake once and I said, SOMETHING IS DIFFERENT!!! But a person making a salad or using it for other purposes would love it. My daughter has been buying the robust flavor ever since, she's a vegetarian. So I would say, overall we are dedicated Pomepian olive oil customers, and I hope they continue to do what they are doing with the same flavors and never ever change it! I do have one other olive oil brand that I use for a specific purpose, but for cooking and baking, I will only use this "Light Taste" Pompeian.

Versatile, Light, and Now My Go-To Olive Oil
I really like this brand and this particular blend. It’s a lighter olive oil, which makes it way more versatile than some of the heavier, stronger-tasting options out there. I love that I can use it for making salad dressings without the olive flavor overpowering everything, but it still has enough character to shine through when I’m pan frying or cooking. It strikes a great balance between flavor and flexibility, which is exactly what I need for everyday use. It’s become my go-to olive oil and is now part of my regular Subscribe & Save order. Highly recommend if you’re looking for an all-around kitchen staple!

Somewhat pricey. Great light taste -- may not be as rich - tasting as you'd like.
When we first tasted this olive oil, we noticed its pleasing, light taste. Lighter taste does not mean fewer calories, as this olive oil, per 1 tablespoon serving, contains 120 calories, which is comparable to other cooking oils. This particular olive oil is good for cooking/frying and baking and can be substituted for butter/margarine.We find the lighter taste more pleasant than regular or virgin olive oil, which tends to be stronger. However, this brand is somewhat pricey, so you may want to shop around to see if lower-cost alternatives are available.

Being able to fry with olive oil is great!
First of all, I dislike the taste of olive oil, but just started the Mediterranean diet to maintain my current weight and have a healthy lifestyle. Olive oil is used over butter. THIS olive oil has a more neutral taste that I can live with. I now scramble my breakfast egg in it every morning! (I spread 1/2 an avocado on toast instead of butter, and put a scrambled egg on top. I also eat 1/2 cup of plain yogurt w/berries and sweetener) I use this oil (seasoned with herbs) to brush my pizza crusts before adding sauce. I have fried french fries with it!

Excellent replacement for many uses of generic vegetable oils (just not sweets-baking)
This ultra-light olive oil is for cooking, not dipping bread or drizzling on salads. If you want healthier olive oil in place of corn oil, canola oil, etc., this will be good for most applications that involve pan frying, or adding oil to a richly flavored dish. It is not for high-temperature use like deep frying, or coating baking sheets. And it's not for baking sweets, though it will work quite well for hearty bread. If you're not certain you're going to like this, the easy test is to fry some eggs in it for breakfast. If you have an "ooh, this is good" reaction, you're golden, but if you have a "blech, this is nothing like breakfast must taste" reaction, then you can probably just use it in recipes that specifically call for olive oil. Still, give it a try. As a testament to how good this is for general cooking, a housemate of mine from the deep south who is big into cajun fish fry and homemade fried chicken (skillet-style, not deep-fry), well, he ran out of regular vegetable oil and ended up using up all my extra-light olive oil, since it worked well for all his fried stuff. As for this particular brand: I'm not a brand loyalist with this stuff, but I have had Pompeian before, both in this extra-light form and in extra-virgin form, and it was entirely satisfactory in both cases.
