Chapin International Seal Poly Sprayer for Deck Cleaners and Transparent Stains and Sealers Chapin 25020 2-Gallon Clean 'N, Yellow/Black

Just finished using this to spray just over 9 gallons of clear oil based sealer on a new cedar fence. Whole project took less than 2 hours to do my side and neighbor's side of fence. I did not know how well this would work with oil based, many say they don't recommend using them, this didn't say one way or the other. For a fence, this worked Great. You do have to keep it pumped up but that's not surprising. It includes 3 tips, I used the blue one based on information on the box. I can understand why some may have puddling on a deck surface that would need brushed out but on a vertical surface and clear (transparent) stain/sealer, any runs just soaked in. I do think if it was a colored stain, it may have needed some brush work, but still would have worked well. For my needs, 5 stars.

I am not a professional and definitely NOT a handy person. That being said, I decided to take on pressure-washing my deck and sealing it to protect from the elements. I selected this Chapin 2-gallon sprayer because of the good reviews, capacity, and price. Everything is made of plastic, so this may very well be the only project I use it on. I have had sprayers similar in the past and they don't have a lot of pressure - it goes the same for this sprayer. Definitely not enough pressure no matter how many times you pump it. I didn't need too much pressure since I'm just spraying clear sealant, then going over it with a brush. There are 3 nozzles, but they're basically the same - just piddle piddle out. The 2 gallon capacity is nice because it allowed me to do half the deck before refilling. It's a good price for what it does. I would recommend for small jobs.

I read a lot of reviews regarding different sprayers and I had no idea there were so many types based on the chemicals you are using. I just needed a pump sprayer to brighten/clean my deck and nothing more. This Chapin pump sprayer did just that. I read the Chapin reviews and was very surprised on all the negative reviews because I hear this was a good pump for what I needed. Then I noticed the majority of the negative reviews were written when the consumer used the sprayer for staining. Look, I get it. One the sprayer itself it states it can be used for stain, sealer, and wash, but who uses a pump sprayer for full stain?! I cannot vouch for the negative reviews because I would not try staining with anything under $30. The have professional sprayers for a reason. Like I said, I purchased this to wash my deck and it worked terrific. I have a pergola as pergola as well (12'x20') and I was able to spray everything under 30 minutes. The wand has way more power than I expected (I was thinking round-up sprayers) and I only had to re-pump every five (5) minutes or so. It came with three (3) nozzles and I used only the one (red cap) and it was perfection. I will be using this to wash my fence later this year. I believe this pump sprayer will last for years. It seems very durable, but again, I will not be staining or sealing. If you are just washing your deck, this pump sprayer will be able to do everything you need it to do with no hassles and will last for years to come. I cannot say the same about the staining, but washing I give it five (5) stars!

This works great as long as you keep it pumped up. Did a great job spraying stain on a fence.
