The not quite perfect portable workhorse!
Chuwi Hipad X Android 11 tablet review: I purchased this tablet during Black Friday Sale so the price/performance aspect of it is excellent! Hope this helps whoever is looking for a tablet/mobile device. I'm going to start off with a little bit of background information so you have an idea on my thought proces for getting this device: This tablet replaces an old LG V521 tablet with a T-Mobile data plan. It meets my minimum requirements of at least 6GB of RAM (this should be the bare minimum for all devices by now), 128GB of storage and an LTE modem so that I can use it as an ultra portable work station while traveling without having to carry the heavier bulkier laptop. The current Chuwi tablet I am using to write this review with is actually the second tablet. The first tablet I ordered had a problem where it would connect to the T-Mobile network and within ~5 minutes it would go into a connect/disconnect loop. Then it would try to re-provision itself and ultimately crash the Mobile Data and SIM Toolkit apps. Wiping the tablet and trying several online suggestions didn't help. I changed the SIM card (just in case) and that didn't fix it. This is where I got in touch with Chuwi support. After explaining the situation and including screenshots of the issue they replied back late that business day with an explanation of what's happening along with their blessing to have Amazon replace the tablet, this is very impressive. They also sent over a folio keyboard/touchpad case for this tablet for free as an apology for the damaged tablet, even more impressive! Now for the performance of the tablet: The short version is, everything in/on this tablet is good enough... Again, the price!! Performance is great for my use case: Remote connection, video conferencing, browsing and the occasional entertainment video. I am not a mobile gamer so I don't need a powerful CPU and GPU, just enough power to launch the apps needed and maintain a good VPN connection. Compared to most brand name tablets, the included 6GB of RAM and the vanilla Android installation make it feel ultra snappy! The screen is great for a device at this price point, very bright and the color calibration seems to be very good. (And yeah, it comes with a screen protector pre-applied) Yes, the device has only one speaker but honestly most users will be using their own audio equipment in the form of wired headphones or wireless (Bluetooth) ones. The metal construction is nice, feels very sturdy and surprisingly not that slippery in the hand. The haptic feedback motor they're using is also very nice, short and positive to let you know you've pressed a key or button. The front facing camera is just good enough for video conferences specially using LTE connectivity where you're not going to get high resolution anyway due to network speed/latency (more on this down in the negative section); and for face recognition... Yes the tablet has face unlock! The folio keyboard, that I'm currently using to write this, is NOT going to be the keyboard that you write the next Avatar script on, but it is more than adequate for the quick email, document editing, etc. This is not to say that the tablet doesn't any negatives, it is a budget device: 1. Applied screen protector is not glass, it's a laminate one that scratches pretty easily. 2. Both cameras are pretty horrible for what you can get even on a budget phone now a days... They just do their job, show a somewhat washed out image, not a great one but that's it... 3. The LTE modem is SLOW. Max speed test yield ~30 Mbps download and about ~30 Mbps upload. Which is weird because the T618 is rated as a CAT 7 LTE modem (300/150 estimated speeds). For comparison, other devices within the household on the same lte network (4G, not 5G) are between 70-100 down and 20-40 up... 4. DRM Info shows this device is Widevine L1 certified. SADLY Netflix shows this device as an L3 so no HD playback. Another application that checks for this security level is the DirecTV Stream app, it drops the entire screen resolution down to 480p. There is something wrong with the way that Chuwi has certified this device to be L1. 4. There is no disable of touchpad while typing with the folio keyboard in the settings for the ROM that comes with this tablet or the keyboard itself. So you have to make sure that your palm doesn't touch the touchpad or you have to move the cursor to an area of the screen that doesn't respond to touch input, I place the cursor down in the lower left corner of the screen while typing. 5. The folio keyboard for this tablet stays on when connected to the tablet, even when closed, so your battery life suffers a bit. Might be solvable with a software/firmware update to disable the keyboard when it's closed. 6. The folio keyboard sometimes doesn't register certain keystrokes. Been experiencing that more with the spacebar than any other key. I think it might be my typing style, not sure yet... 7. As some people have commented, the folio keyboard case can be a bit flimsy when the tablet is standing, so it will fall flat if jolted or moved abruptly. It should have magnets in that area to be able to hold itself rather than count on the weight of the tablet to hold it down. Overall, this tablet, for the price, has been a fantastic value. And again, the customer service from Chuwi, amazing! Keep up the good work!

Best budget tablet
I bought this tablet with the original intent of loading linux on it and using it like a surface or other comparable windows tablets. However, the android experience on this thing is fantastic. I was able to transfer all my apps, text, call logs, pics, just everything from my phone to this tablet. It also has the ability to text via using blue tooth connection to your phone as well. Comes with a clear case and a film screen protector installed. That is important, because I thought my tablet screen had cracked a day or two after delivery. it was just a scratch on the screen protector that was only visibly on an all white background. Kudos to Chuwi for providing these accessories. Split screen works great, the speakers are nice and loud, the screen is sharp with vibrant colors. I tested the wifi speed from my desk compared to my laptop. I got the same exact speed on the tablet over wifi that I did on my laptop, very please about that. Games that would freeze up and run poorly if any other app was open on my 2023 Fire HD 10 run buttery smooth on this. It has double the ram and from what I understand a page file type that uses the 128gb ssd as additional ram. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase. This tablet punches way above its price in terms of performance, quality, and features. Well done Chewi.

I Really Like this Tablet - Not and AOSP Tablet but it Sure Acts Like One - Excellent
Update 22-8-26: I was very surprised to discover that I could Not install Signal Messenger on this Tablet, something I have been able to do on every other device I have including Win7, Win10, Kubuntu Linux, two other Android phones, two Apple devices - Not sure what is up with this Lovely Tablet that it can NOT install this nice Privacy oriented txting app?! On the upside, I was able to install Telegram which will do for now... The size, function, quality of display & sound are quite good but the thing I Love Best about this Tablet is that NOTHING is running automatically in the background that you've no control over - it only runs what you decide - If you've ever had an over priced Samsung or similar, you know what I'm talking about. When you put this tablet into Airplane mode, no apps running, no battery drop in a week in that mode - so Good - it's almost as if this were an AOSP Tablet (pure open source) - best thing about this -sometimes I wish it had cell phone (SIM card) for use more places. Plus, it feels a bit bigger that the competition and at a better price...

It's gray, 6GB Ram 128GB Rom. This tablet is very good for any person like children, students, adults etc. Very smooth performance. I love very much for this battery backup. Browsing, youtube, gaming all kind of use It's two days battery life. Also internet speed pretty impressive. Me continuous Internet usage but it must always cool nothing any heating issue. Video quality also pretty. I think it's just too good.
