Is this  legitimate Kolinsky brushes. I bought some of these at this price and it turned out they are not genuine,they splayed out after use.

with the size #1 Limited, does the brush come with the box shown? Appears to be a wooden box. Would make me more comfortable in the shipping.

I believe the limited does come with the box. However, I have purchased 3 different Series 7 brushes (#0, #3 and #7) and they have all been packaged in a plastic cylindrical container from the manufacturer. It also has the plastic ring that protects the brush point. They actually take good care in protecting these brushes, I dont think you'll have a problem with the non-limited edition. Unless, of course, your mail person practices their karate with your packages.

Could you use this with ink (dip pen and/or fountain pen ink)?

I'm sure you could. Although I am unfamiliar with the process of cleaning ink from a brush myself, as long as the brush is kept clean it will last you a good while.

Question 4

Can you use series 7 brushes with Tamiya arcylic paints or is it not recommended

Accepted Answer

Yes you can. I use the #7 daily with modeling acrylics. It is important to keep them clean. With acrylics try to only dip the first half of the brush in paint. This protects the ferrule. Use a good brush soap, reform your point, dry them with the brush hanging down, and it will give you great painting for years. I’ve tried other “just as good as…" brushes. They’re not. The Winsor and Newton Series 7 is the Gold Standard. Btw, I’m an amateur modeler and certainly do not rep any company. I am in IPMS if that counts.
