Is this the gasket for model K45SS?

The product description lists the model numbers that fit. Check your KitchenAid mixer for the number. There are great YouTube videos that show how to remove and insert the gasket and food safe grease. It was messy … but I did this project myself! Good luck.

Do you need to use gasket sealer with this gasket as the original owners manual says to do?

If the gasket didn't come with a small tube of sealer, I didn't use it. I think I just used a light coating of their grease. The mixer ran MUCH quieter after I repacked the gears.
