Q: Does a standard sized 2-2.5 hour Sterno can fit in this?

We are able to use the large Sterno cans...however, it's unfortunate that this fondue stand, although of high quality, it comes with a rather cheap alcohol burner with no "screen gauze" insert, only an empty burner. We were able to us the burner from an old set and always use denatured alcohol, rather than the Sterno The Sterno would work OK for cheese fondue, but for a meal with meat and veggies it does not keep the oil hot enough...that has been our experience. We probably do fondue a dozen times or more during the winter. Enjoy.

Q: Can I use a votive candle instead of stereo?

This rechaud was designed for a much larger pot and a votive candle will not generate enough heat for such a large pot. A votive candle may melt a small amount of chocolate for a chocolate fondue (in a smaller pot), but it will not generate enough heat for a cheese or oil/broth fondue.

Q: Can this be safely used indoors?

Yes. These are made to be used on your dinning table. Absolutely safe. Of course, due care should be observed around children.

Q: Can a dansk kobenstyle pot be used on this burner?

This Rechaud is designed to fit the Swissmar Lugano Fondue Pot. To ensure utmost safety we recommend using this pot.
