Genuine Ford product
First off, I don't know why some people say this is a knockoff. This is a Ford product in Ford packaging. Second, this does fit a 2013 F-150, even though Amazon says it does not. Last week I started getting the blue screen instead of a backup camera. This was exactly what I needed at some of the wires have been broken in the harness due to incorrect installation at some point in the past when the tailgate was replaced. It was not that cheap but it's worth it to get an OEM product. It's not that difficult to install. Unclip the Ford logo plate on the tailgate, take two 7 mm screws out of the camera housing and remove, unclip the harness on that end. The other end is underneath the truck on the driver side just beyond the bumper. Unclip it, there is another clip on the tailgate which is included on the new harness. Feed the small end of the wire through the grommet then through the tailgate hole. It helps to feed a piece of wire through the camera hole on the back of the tailgate then you can just pull the wiring harness through. Plug both ends of the harness in. Replace the camera plate and the logo plate.

Save yourself $900 over Dealer Install! Easy DIY
2013 F-150. Fit's perfectly and an upgrade from the OEM. Watched a couple YT videos and installed this backup camera in about 30 minutes. Higher definition than the OEM. Most of the problems with the OEM cameras stem from the wiring wearing out from constant opening and closing of the tailgate over the years. This Camera is the perfect replacement!

This OEM Camera Wire Harness, was better made, and worked the first time.
I tried buying a cheap aftermarket harness to fix a broken backup camera. The build quality wasn't the same as OEM, but that is to be expected. When I plugged it in, there was now a picture, however it was extremely distorted. I inspected the entire wire harness from the tailgate to the engine compartment, and nothing was damaged. I tried a different camera, and it made no difference. I finally took a close look at the harness, and two of the wires were reversed. I ordered this OEM harness, and it worked perfectly. I also have confidence that it will last another 100,000 miles, as the waterproofing and abrasion protection is much better than the aftermarket harness!

Just what I needed to replace the old and worn cable.
I bought this to replace the OEM unit on my 2011 F-150 Platinum rear camera. The original cable was worn from the flexing of if at the bottom of the tailgate. It was a simple install for the most part other than having to work at getting the original to disconnect from the main wiring harness with out breaking anything. A good hard tapping on the connector with the end of a screw driver to the main wiring harness connection to knock things loose and break up the dirt that managed to make its way inside the edges of the connection point did the trick. Well worth the price for OEM parts.
