Norton (NOR62328) 3" Norton SG Blaze Speed-Lok TR Discs, Grit 36 (1) Package of 25

I do a lot of metal work , welding , fabrication and a lot of Autobody work. I have tried other brands like 3m , and lots of no name brands trying to find the most economical approach to my abrasive habit. Norton absolutely outlasts and outfits them all . As with any abrasives you can cloth them up in seconds and smoke a disk , or learn a better approach and save time and money . Paint removing typically won’t clog them up , they cut right through it and leave nice shiny steel in there wake . Mill scale however will clog them up and reduce their effectiveness greatly . I have backing plates from 3” down to 1” . As I’m using these 3” pads they mostly ware at the edge , so I will take about 1/4 - 1/2” off and reduce the backer to 2” and it starts fresh . I keep cutting it down to 1” and then it’s time to replace . I find the 36grit pads work the best for me , but if you’re going to fully finish your work you must be prepared to clean up the 36 grit markings , as they will not leave the surface ready for paint . But as for value for your money , you can’t go wrong .
